[IRCA] TP 15 Mar Victoria version

Perhaps not as lively a morning as yesterday, but not to be sneezed at either. There likely were titbits that were missed when going over the recording. The peak seemed to be around 1405UT, with things quietening down considerably by 1420UT

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK man and woman in Japanese 1341UT
747 JOIB start of English lessons after 1400UT
774 JOUB Korean lessons 1306UT; carrier still pretty good at 1541UT, but this had signed off at 1440UT
828 JOBB English time trials 1401UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1412UT
1566 HLAZ man in Chinese 1407UT...this was pounding in also with man in Korean after end of Chinese broadcast at 1600UT nearly two hours after sunrise.

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

567 JOIK man in Japanese //594 1340UT
873 JOGB end of Chinese lessons, distinctive theme music 1359UT
954 JOKR woman in Japanese 1311UT
1206 Yanbian likely; woman talking Korean 1403 and 1412UT
1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1415UT
1593 CNR1 Chinese news by man 1401UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

558 HLQH woman in Korean 1325UT; not //603 at this time, but noted other times
612 JOLK and likely 4QR woman talking //594 1401UT, but then man talking, DU English inflection took over
702 NHK2 woman in Japanese //774 1335UT
738 Taiwan Fisheries, lively pop music //1143 1336UT
945 CNR1 man in Chinese 1413UT //1593
963 CRI chimes and fanfare 1400UT
981 CNR1 woman talking //1593 1335UT
1053 man talking, really too murky to guess language, but more of a Chinese than Japanese inflection , 1341UT
1143 Taiwan Fisheries, lively pop music //738 1336UT
1323 CRI chimes and fanfare 1400UT, quite faint considering strength of carrier.
1422 JORF man and woman in Japanese 1408UT
1503 JOUK man in Japanese 1415UT, after NHK1 theme music

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

603 slow voiced woman seemed //558, 1405UT, but someone else there too.
891 JOHK man and woman in Japanese //594 1318UT
918 China unID. pips heard 1400UT, man talking sounding Chinese 1410UT
1017 man talking,sounding Korean 1404UT, not //NHK2.
1044 CRI chimes and fanfare 1400UT
1089 talk by man sounding Chinese? 1407UT. Definitely not //774
1134 man talking, sounded like a speech and maybe Chinese inflection? 1408UT
1242 woman talking, pop music 1408UT
1386 NHK2 English lessons //774 1403UT 1494 female pop vocal 1416UT
1494 female pop vocal 1416UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter)

531 621 639 711 729 819 846 864 909 936 1035 1098 1107 1179 1278 1314 1332 1359 1368 1458 1467 1575 seemed to be Asian; 1098 likely DU?

best wishes,

Nick
