Re: [IRCA] LW BC 2/17/17

Walter:

I didn't say I was hearing 162 kHz. The signal is displayed by the G313e software on my computer. The signal can be heard when I set the receiver to 500 Hz CW. The station has been used for standard frequency purposes since the late 1970s, originally broadcasting on 163.8 kHz. It now carries an atomic clock controlled time signal inaudible on an AM receiver. From what I've read it's still using a power of 2 MW and has a range of approximately 3500 km or 2175 miles.

Morocco now has a fair signal on 171 kHz at 0545.

Richard.
