[IRCA] TP 15 Feb Victoria version
Quite a step up from yesterday. The signal strength monitor says
774 was pretty hot much of the night for example, but it was the
sunrise boost just after 1500UT that had a few more unusual ones popping up.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
774 JOUB man in Japanese 1513UT
828 JOBB man and woman talking //873 1501UT
1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese 1528UT, still some audio turning up after
1600UT, but didn't hold on as late as yesterday
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK woman in Japanese 1519UT
747 JOIB man in Japanese //1386 1510UT
972 HLCA man in Korean 1444UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
567 JOIK man in Japanese, another man agreeing 1426UT
1116 4BC man talking, DU English 1326UT, soon faded
1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1511UT, fading up pretty rapidly to this level
1314 JOUF man and woman talking in Japanese and laughing 1504UT, best
on north Flag
1593 CNR1 man in Chinese 1524-1527UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
612 for a change of pace, likely 4QR with man talking, DU English
inflection 1307UT
873 JOGB man talking //828 1501UT
945 CNR1 woman talking //6135 1520UT
954 man talking, Japanese inflection
1179 man talking, Japanese inflection 1509UT
1242 pop music 1304UT, likely JOLF?
1386 NHK2 man talking //747 1510UT
1494 JOTL catch of the morning, man mumbling, Japanese inflection,
but definitely //1287 1530UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
693 738 864 1017 1053 1098 1134 1269 1332 1422 1512 1548 seemed to
be Asian; 1548 likely DU (but another carrier on the channel was
Asian, better on the north Flag, and on channel rather than 10 Hz off)
best wishes,
Nick
