[IRCA] TP 20 Jan Victoria version
The signal strength monitor said that the low band big guns were
doing pretty well around 1130UT, but even the SDR was still sleeping then.
Pickings were considerably slimmer later. All audio seemed to be Asian.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
back to normal
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
not today
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
594 JOAK man and woman in Japanese 1258UT, pips on hour. Never
returned to this level
774 JOUB end of English lessons 1258UT, pips on hour, and into lead
in music for Korean lessons
1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese 1600UT, then faded to man talking which I
think was Korean. This didn't start to deliver any audio today
until 1550UT, but there were many fades back up after 1600, the
latest seemed to be 1708UT w/woman talking, maybe Korean, and a hymn,
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
828 JOBB woman talking //774 1301UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
747 1134 1314 1377 1386 1422 seemed to be Asian; 612 and 1098 more likely DU
best wishes,
Nick
