The ARRL has divided Kiribati into three distinct countries (or âentitiesâ) running west-to-east, for DXCC purposes. There is also a 4th entity consisting solely of Ocean Island. I would guess that their BC station is on the principal island of Tarawa, which is in the western part of Kiribati. The map that Iâm using doesnât show time zones, but it looks like Tarawa should be in the same zone as the Marshall Islands, directly to the north. Of course some island-nations in the Pacific, such as Samoa, have placed themselves in new time zones, for various reasons.
