[IRCA] TP 1 Dec Victoria version

Pretty lively today, but erratic; many channels might have had something fade up, but life is too short. Main point of interest was Chinese fading up (somewhat) after 1500UT, and HLAZ hanging in until 1750UT

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

594 JOAK Japanese man on phone talking to woman announcer 1514UT

1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese ending in piano music, then man in Korean with "FEBC" ID 1600UT. Audio still noted after 1700UT, and fairly steady with Korean man and woman (drama?) 1719-27 UT, peaking to very readable 1728UT. Starting to fade after this, but still noted Christmas carol at 1751UT

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

774 JOUB man in Japanese 1511UT; possibly better signals in 1300-1500UT
972 HLCA man on phone to announcer, Korean 1406UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

612 4QR odd man out, man in DU English 1442UT
738 Tahiti likely, island vocals 1416UT
747 JOIB man in Japanese //774 1516UT
945 CNR1 man in Chinese //6125 and leading it 1522UT
1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1529UT; still various mumblings on channel 1714UT
1593 CNR1 man in Chinese, musical interlude //6125 1558UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)

693 JOAB woman talking //774 barely making it through 690 splash 1357UT
711 man talking, struggling with 710 splash, but sounded Korean in the gaps in the splatter 873 JOGB woman talking //774 1414UT (and yes 828 was heard at various times too)
981 CNR1 woman and man talking 1513-14UT, //945 and 1593
1017 flute music, man talking, maybe Korean?? 1523UT
1575 woman talking 1533UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here

567 621 702 837 855 909 918 954 1044 1089 1098 1107 11341206 1278 1386 1422 1494 1503 etc...

best wishes,

Nick
