Re: [IRCA] [HCDX] TP Report 11/25 & Video of my DX Spot

It's hellishly unlikely for Newstalk ZB (from Kaikohe) to be carrying an Australian weather round-up.

Also, the time? 9.37 am presumably refers to your AK time -- UT minus 10 -- which would be 1937 UT or 8.37 am NZDT. Sunrise in NZ's Far North would've been shortly after 6 am NZDT/1700 UT.

Paul, I listened to the 1215 clip. Now I'm no language expert, but that
accent sounds more Aussie than Kiwi. But, I'm sure we have experts better
versed in such matters than me. Great reception, by the way! Have you
tried putting a wire on the ice? Might be an interesting comparison. I'm
sure the ice is safe enough to walk on? 73, Walt

Now, someones pulled a rabbit out of their hat and suggested that the 1215
I heard was not ABC Midwest & Wheatbelt's 6NM Northam, but possibly
NewsTalk ZB from New Zealand on 1215khz.

It looks like, based upon the consensus of some folks on an Australian
transmitter site group on Facebook my 1215khz is the 500 watter, 6NM
Northam

Dunno why I thought 1134 was an Aussie, it's not marked as such in my

The one I am most puzzled about is 1215.. looking in the ACMA
database, I
get two listings...4HI Moranbah with 250 Watts and 6NM Northam with
500W..
that would seem near impossible to be heard up here.

I guess 1152 is 6PB. Not sure who 1134 is though.

I had nothing from HLAZ 1566 or JOLF 1244 in Tokyo.. Pyongyang was
missing on 657 and 873.

I did hear Aussies talkers on 1134, 1152 and 1215.
