An SDR like the S2 will work fine for MW with an inexpensive tablet (I've tried it and it works)...together about the same size as your PL880.

I have a PL880, but it doesnt do AM as well as it does SW
I am not too fond of getting an SDR.. thats two more pieces of equipment to
carry out.
I really wish people would come here, pay a visit and see what I deal with
before making suggestions that work everywhere else.. without first hand
real life expierience of my locations, many of the suggestions are invalid
and worthless.
