[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-22

Walt was certainly correct in judging this morning's dawn enhancement as impressive, although in addition to the Japanese there were star performers here from Korea as well. To add some extra variety the Chinese mid-band stations on 936, 1017, 1035, 1044, 1206 and 1323 all managed fair audio at times.

Because of an antenna project I made the mistake of checking the band at 1015 UTC, and during the Asian sunset propagation was already so energetic that it sounded like one of the better sunrise sessions. The Chinese mid-band stations on 1017, 1035, 1044, 1206 and 1323 were managing decent audio at times, and 558-HLQH and 603-HLSA were easy to parallel. 738-BEL2 was already above the San Francisco splatter and 1143 had enough audio to make the match. It didn't seem like a very good idea to have a 4 hour session in the cold back yard, though, so the next TP check was made around 1250. The band was still well above average, with the 1566-Jammer holding the edge over HLAZ, and 972-HLCA pounding in at S9+ levels over and over. Of course the NHK big guns on 594, 693, 747, 774 and 828 were at powerful strength, and the Chinese mid-band stations were still there off and on, augmented by 936 and 963. After daylight kicked in around 1400 there was a potent boost to 603-HLSA, 657-Pyongyang and 738-BEL2, with the wacky North Korean station ending up as the primary beneficiary with very good level female vocal music around 1418. 1044 kHz ended up with an apparent mix of CRI's Japanese and the Korean station around 1415, while the 1035-CNR1 echoes also seemed to have a Korean co-channel. The strength and variety of the various TP's was pretty unusual for this mediocre location, so I'm sure that the Victoria DXers must have made out like bandits this morning. Best signal of the lengthy session (over and over) was S9+ pop music from 972-HLCA.

657 Pyongyang B.S. Spooky, Halloween-type female vocal music (a few days early) at 1418; the wacky station got a huge sunrise enhancement boost
