What sounded like a promising band with a diverse collection of Asian signals around 1300 failed to deliver very much because of a lackluster sunrise enhancement. Chinese mid-band stations on 936, 1017, 1035, 1044 and 1323 all had threshold audio in the predawn darkness, but slowly sank into the noise as daylight increased.
At my 1255 start time the Japanese big guns were anemic at best, but the Koreans on 972, 1053 and 1566 sounded pretty healthy. The NK jammer was in a good mix with 1566-HLAZ, and the CRI stations on 1017 and 1044 were in and out of the noise. Shortly after 1300 the Chinese stations on 936, 1035 and 1323 also broke audio, and it seemed like the Asians were finally going to shake off the doldrums of the past couple of days. Unfortunately things went slowly downhill from there, with increasing daylight decreasing the Asians. By 1350 only 972-HLCA and the 1053-Jammer had much energy left, with both of them hitting good peaks in and out while the NHK big guns on 594, 693, 747 and 828 managed fair peaks. Late in the session a weak signal showed up on 738 that was looping toward the DU direction but it fizzled before a language determination could be made. Overall the session was basically another clunker, although there probably would have been better Asian results available for a DXer listening from 1200-1300.
