Morning session from 1315 until 1410 UTC
Like Walter Salmaniw and Nick Hall-Patch advise: *"Never underestimate any
mornings conditions - particularly after solar disturbances..."*
Today was a good example of reaping the rewards of patience and the energy
to wade through less than desirable conditions.
Ordering by frequency:
*576* Khz AUS (T) ABC 2RN assuming the bouncy jazz music at 1347 UTC - by
1402 UTC this was // to 756 Khz
*567* Khz JAPAN NHK1 JOIK Hokkaido - putting in a modest performance - 1340
UTC - fair to good
*585* Khz AUS (T) Unknown station - // 576 Khz and often taking turns
rising to fair levels - 1348 UTC // 576 - captured audio/video at 1400 UTC
*YouTube Video* - https://youtu.be/Uuo59utVnAs
*594* Khz JAPAN NHK1 JOAK Tokyo - fair to good w/ some unknown DU
competition on channel (throughout session)
*603* Khz Unknown (DU) at 1349 UTC when most of the DU action was taking a
run, some English sounding content and conversation for a few minutes
*612* Khz AUS ABC 4QR Brisbane - star of the morning gradually building
around 1350 to some impressive peaks over the hour - still in when I shut
down the
station at 1410 UTC - 100% copy most of the time.
*657* Khz AUS (T) - Unknown - absolutely not expecting or looking for
anything here but Pyongyang at 1340 - clear // to 612 Khz
*675 *Khz NZ (T) - assuming the National radio service at 1350 with clear
English speaking YL
*702* Khz JAPAN/AUS - NHK2 (various) Japanese // 774 Khz at 1319 and then
2BL (T) AUS took over by 1407 when that signal (ABC) became // to 612.
*756* Khz AUS (t) - ABC - // to 576 Khz at 1402 UTC... which, I think, is
possible (was jotting down notes and frequencies as they happened w/o any
reference at hand...
*774* Khz AUS/JAPAN - classic over the hour evenly matched battle royale
between 3LO Melbourne and JOUB Akita - 1403 UTC
*You Tube Video* - YouTube https://youtu.be/IOia4UHbwvk
*1017 *Khz JAPAN - NHK2 Fukuoka - surprise appearance and all alone with JJ
commentary at 1356 UTC
*1179* Khz JAPAN (T) MBS Osaka - another unexpected Japanese station -
alone with JJ patter 1354 UTC
Other good (and more predictable) signals of the morning - 828 (JJ), 972
(Korea) 1053 (Korea-Jam) 1098 (O.C.) 1116 ABC Programming
1242 NHK Japan at 1332 UTC, Korea on 1566 Khz constantly and at good
levels.
