The pips bother me, because as you mentioned the pips in your recording don't match the Chaine 2 pips.
The EMWG was not being maintained well at the end. I'd trust MWlist and the WRTH more.

Thanks very much James and Chuck for having a listen. I confess that I
hadn't noticed that Iran was offset by half an hour relative to us, and I
fully agree with your assessment that the station I recorded was not in fact
Iran, but rather more than likely it was Algeria. I note that the MWList
shows Radio Adrar on this frequency, but that this is missing from Herman
Boel's EMWG that I got in December last year, with only Chaine 2 being
shown. I can only find reference to Adrar on 1089 when I do a google search,
so I think that it must be Chaine 2. Does this make sense?
