Re: [IRCA] Minor accomplishment

Most of my time in high school and college, I was up way too late DXing.  The choice of timing has plagued me ever since, but if you hit your peak between midnight and 2, you might as well acknowledge it rather than beat yourself up over it.  I only got one chance to use a beverage, sitting out in the rain near Santa Cruz in the artichoke patch with Doug Nyholm.  We nailed a bunch of stations from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji that night.  I wish I had the space to have one, but knowing me, I would want to set up several of them in a radial pattern and pick the one that cranked my tractor that night.

You've got three years on me, but look on the bright side...through the magic of Alzheimer's, we both just may be able to see and hear things that don't exist if we are lucky enough to reach that age.  I must admit that's a bad joke, but from what I have seen with older relatives, it was the younguns that suffered more while the oldsters were (fort the most part) in fantasyland.  Let's hope that a cure for both Alzheimers and IBOC are at hand!

Congrats Mike. #1500 is nothing to sneeze at. For years I lived at the
dials though. Before the internet and all. I was up every morning. I
rarely missed one for years. Plus I sat on the dials in the evenings
trying to nab Eastern stuff off the beverage. I think that is why my
totals increased so much. I have no idea how many stations I have heard
through the years. I quit keeping track of that. I just count my QSLs
now. It is easier.
Good going on number #1500. Lets see, by 2042, I'll only be 93. DX at
93? Who knows? But at this rate MW DX wont exist.
