Ray is a retired gentleman living near Fort Myers in a high rise
apartment or condo, as I understand it. He uses a 24 inch
spiral would loop and an R8 and a homebrew rx. He is a
former EE. His big advantage is that he is up every day
before sunrise looking for TP signals, It is only the occasional
day that he gets something promising, but he has identified
seasons that favor Japanese, Aust/NZ, Sabah-1475 which he
says seem to have low modulation. He has heard audio
from Thailand 1575 a few times. Another big advantage for
him is facing out to the Gulf of Mexico providing a low arrival
angle for DX skip. He says 4BC-1116 and Majuro-1098
are some of the relatively consistent things he gets. AFAIK
he reports only to the print version of NRC. I think Ray is a
good example of the importance of consistency and methodology
in looking for DX signals. I met him, years ago, at GPN's.
