Spanish "stuff" is heard on a lot of frequencies here in northeast Georgia 
too! I have no idea where most of it comes from as my Spanish is horrible. I 
hear Radio Reloj EVERYWHERE and that ticking gets in my head and won't go 
away. Perhaps it's time to get al the Hispanic kids I teach to teach me a 
thing or two about the language.

I may not know what I'm doing, but I hear Cubans too, ya'know.

If the FL DX community doesn't ostracize this newbie for uninformed 
reporting, one of these days I may even know what and where all those Cubans 
I hear are.

East coast listeners often get a different mix of Cuban salsa, making it a 
challenge at times to correlate what the Gulfies are hearing versus us ocean 
goers.  Because of the intervening south FL landmass, eastern Cuba is tough 
to hear in the Gulf region.  West coast Cuba -- Habana and environs -- is a 
challenge at times for DXing from the Atlantic side.

Took me forever to finally hear airborne Radio Marti on 530, circling over 
western Cuba, while those on the Gulf were discussing how much louder it was 
this time versus last.

The point is, Florida is a great DX spot, despite subtropical summer noise.  
Now if I could just quiet those Bahamian pests...

You don't have to go to Key West for that.  Most of the Florida gulf coast
has Cubans all day, up and down the band.  You'll know you've been here too
long when the Cubans get to be the pests.
