Only agree with you in part. KFAX has been VERY VERY successful with their religious format. Maybe one is just right and two is two much? Also liberal-radio bastion only as far as KGO & KQKE
is concerned. Have you checked KSFO & KNEW lately? Granted, KGO is the only locally programmed one of the bunch. Altho they are the highest rated station in the bay area I seldom listen as
too often (in my opinion only) they are too radically racial. Well, at least you got the 'having lived in san francisco 30 years' bit right :-)............
