If the noise comes from outside your house, and especially if you can find
evidence that it's associated with a power pole, you might get help. Some
companies are better than others apparently.

Not sure that many MW DXers qualify for the "young strong body" description
anymore unfortunately, hi. The DXers' version of the firemans' calendar
has never been suggested as an IRCA fundraiser, even when we were all
younger...

Is there a smaller test version of a random wire antenna that you could set
up with an isolation/matching transformer? Even a few metres of noise free
wire would be better than a big noisy antenna.

Fourth edition, page 118 is the best reference there, though you might get
by without the 1:1 matching transformer. Some detail on page 114 also, and
if you have the IRCA reprints, there are cross references to a couple of
those also.

Hmm, turned in a certain direction perhaps? Often a loop can be used to
null electrical noise, but then of course, you can't null interfering stations.

best wishes,

Nick
