Hi All,
It's me with another corny comment and question,
hi. I was up-dating my log this morning and I was just wondering how
everyone else does their logs these days??? My process goes back to the
beginning of when I started listening in the 70's and even though it works
satisfactorily, I'm sure it has some room for improvement. At least I can
save it now instead of typing each sheet manually, whew!
This is how I do it.
1.) Scribble my notes on notebook paper. At the end
of a 'session' I may end up with one note or several pages of insanity, some of
which may be cleaned up and sent to the "Round-Up" columns
later.
2.) Decipher and transfer (in writing), brief but
important info. to my previously printed-out log. Usually re-log dates heard
and/or programming changes and occasionally new stations. I do this while still
listening.
3.) Periodically, when my print-out get's to full
of written notes, or it gets too obnoxious, I then transfer my notes from
the log to the PC and print out a fresh copy.
I currently use MS Word and have it divided up with
rows and columns, but eventually I'd like to switch it all over to an Excel
spreadsheet for obvious reasons. (sorting at will). I've messed with switching
it over a couple of times, but I just cant seem to understand how to get
the lay-out, the way I'd like it.
This topic is about as basic as it gets, but I'm
curious about how others might be doing it.
