Mike,
The same was true about 1050-San Mateo CA going to 50 KW. They bought
out KPAY Chico on 1060. I think KKOL Seattle on 1300 will shut down
1290 Port Angeles WA when they get the boost too.
But don't you think, we have way too many stations in the US anymore?
Most don't make any money. They are a waste. They just clutter up the
bands with the same boring formats. Tuning across the dial in the
morning, it is Rush Limbaugh and at night it is Art Bell. Few stations
do any decent local programming. During the Tital Wave warning here on
the OR coast, only a station or two on the coast gave info. Everyone
else ran the same satellite stuff. They don't serve the public. Bring
back the days, when a station served the local community. When radio was
radio. KSWB Seaside now does this. They are local, but run some
satellite music at night. But they are live days.
