I have this, and just like the radio as has been reported here, the LCD display failed on mine after a few months.  Since it is used to set the frequency, I now have to just keep trying until I find a match between radio and xmitter. 
 
Otherwise it works so long as you're not looking for any distance beyond car radio and xmitter.  I have so many FM stations in the area there is no clear channel to use, so proximity is especially important.  In that regard it may be as good as any other similar device.
