Re: [IRCA] [DXFlorida] of Wobbles, beachwalks, and cold war reveries; PVZ; 02 0256Z JUN 05

Paul,

At 2350 EDT I also heard a clear ID of 910 as R.Cadena Agramonte, Camaguey, or at least as well as my not Spanish listening ear could discern.

This afternoon there was no way what was causing the Wobbler early or anything later on because of static crashes.  Camaguey is certainly more on a water path for me and could be my daytime station.  Usually I focus on whether there is a Wobbler or not, rather than trying to fathom a non-spoken language, but I shall listen more closely in the event even I can make out an ID.

More English being spoken on 930 that usual.  WLSS Sarasota and WFXJ Jacksonville walking over each other, WLSS winning more often than not from 0000-0030.  Also muddled Spanish fighting for a turn as well, assume usual Ciego de Avila, but not R.Reloj as listed in WRTH.  Phaser was working like a tuning dial, turn it left, Spanish, turn it right, English, quite uncommon.

910, occasional wobble.

2050 local, beachwalk w/DX-398,  670 Rebelde: wobbles two minutes. Abruptly on as if switched, sound of police siren in 'yelp' mode, slowly whoops ever lower from about 800 to 500 cycles, then gone. Null > Habana, same as Rebelde.

2110 local, Progreso 640 dj speaks glowingly re Dusty Springfield, nee Mary Margaret O'Brien, plays "I Only Wanna be with you". Visualizing, as President Reagan called it.
Resplendent period images recalled by worthless undersigned banished scribe as well, perhaps disquieting to d.j.'s maximo program director. Blazing August '65, massive Montauk AFS FPS-35 radar formidably searches skies, F-101B's searing through military climb corrider, J-57 burners lit, summer bear hunts. Double booms slam from jetty to shore to ship, people giddy, bolt from shore bungalows to savor smoke 'n noise show.

1100 local: 910 ID: 'R. Cadena Agramonte, Camaguey.'  Strong, clear, 16 KHz filter, taping, smothering lightning ix, almost studio. Bearing 145 > Camaguey. Metro beneath.
Maybe wobbler is Cadena Agramonte? Within your day coverage, Curt. Hmmm...
