John Tudenham in Joplin, MO forwarded a message that a rumor is running
around St. Louis that WSDZ 1260 may be looking to move from Belleville, IL to
St. Peters, MO.
St. Peters is a city of over 40,000 residents 30 miles NW of St. Louis.
Such a move could allow the station to serve the entire St. Louis metro area;
their night pattern misses most of the western suburbs. One possible objection
could be from Journal Broadcasting, which owns KSGF Springfield, MO. If this
happens, it will be St. Charles County's only commercial AM station, since KIRL
1460 is slated to go non-commercial when Covenant Network completes repairs.
This will leave WESL 1490 as the only commercial AM in St. Clair County, IL (and
it doesn't cover very well past Belleville).
