Bert, I would not recommend any mods to your new 808. The engineers do things for a purpose. Plus, any mods right now will void any warrantee. It works fine as is. That is the only portable that can take an exterior antenna. Be careful & use the gain knob on left side as much as possible. Keep the gain at a level where the audio is clear.
