[IRCA] GE Superadio II and III

Is the GE Superadio II signifcantly better than the III? I am in the
market to purchase a Superadio for a family member who is at a rural
QTH and needs all the extra 'oomph' as possible to pick up some AM
sport broadcasts after station sunset power-down. Any observations
between the two is appreciated.
