The article from the 'local' paper didn't say anything about the FM, but did say that in the early 60's, the AM played top 40 'rock' songs and in the early 1970's, switched over to Country. Clear Channel's reason for changing is that "surveys" indicate that the people they are interested in, among other things ..."are better off financially". Money, money, money...

Wow! This one is a surprise. I believe KRKT was C&W when I moved back
from AK in the Spring of 67. They have C&W for a long time and did quite
well with it. I presume their FM will stay C&W though.?
