Hi Everyone:
There was a pretty fair opening to Europe last
evening with many split frequencies producing carriers. They ranged from 153 on
the longwave band to 1584 at the top end of the medium wave band. Many were
producing hets on domestic stations. Some 17 frequencies produced audio with
1314-Norway being the best at S-8. A couple were tentatively new for
me. Noise levels here are still high which makes any identification difficult.
All times are UTC
162 France 09/26 Man and woman speaking French at
04:00
189 Iceland 09/26 probably the one here with faint
music at 03:56
675 Unid 09/26 Faint music heard here at
03:28
747 Unid 09/26 Man talking at 0315. Too much noise
to get the language, but probably Holland.
756 Germany 09/26 03:30 Various vocal records of
men singing, some in English, with a man talking in German between them. Two
stations listed in Germany on this frequency. New for me.
1008 Unid 09/26 03:05 with modern dance music, so
probably Holland.
1035 Unid 09/26 03:39 with piano music followed by
choral music. No speaking.
1044 Unid 09/26 04:05 with 2 men talking. Too faint
to get language used.
1053 England 09/26 03:42 with 2 men talking about
sport. Parallel to 1089.
1062 Unid 09/26 03:43 with a ballad by Elvis. Later
on I heard a woman talking in what could have been the Danish language, so
probably Denmark.
1089 England
09/26 03:42 with 2 men talking about sport. Parallel to 1053.
1107 Unid 09/26 02:54 Faint pop music heard here.
Also a man talking but unable to get the language.
1125 Unid 09/26 02:52 Faint music heard
here.
1134 Unid 09/26 02:50 Man talking in what sounded
like Russian. Fair signal at times. One of the first to disappear so
probably Croatia.
1215 England Virgin Radio 09/26 02:47 probably the
one here with faint music.
1305 Unid 09/26 02:45 Faint music could be heard
here.
1314 Norway 09/26 02:43 with a man speaking
Norwegian and playing pop music. Great signal at times. Best heard in a long
time.
