Radio Canada International is on the air via shortwave from Sackville 
New Brunswick with a special series of DRM digital test transmissions.

Daily half-hour broadcasts are being presented for the first two weeks 
of May under the auspices of the National Association of Shortwave 
Broadcasters in the United States. The programming is produced by 
several American shortwave stations.

Among them is Adventist World Radio; its officials say they are ?very 
interested to know the effective coverage area of the transmission, as 
well as the width of the digital signal as noted on analog receivers, and 
the effect of analog interference on the digital signal.? So they?re calling 
for reception reports covering reception of their program ?Wavescan,? a 
DX program, according to DX Editor Dr. Adrian M. Peterson, a member 
of the NASB board. It airs late Friday (May 4).

NASB test broadcasts from Radio Canada International are being aired 
daily at 2200?2230 UTC on 9800 kHz DRM.

Several other international shortwave stations are planning to broadcast 
special programs in the DRM mode; the broadcasts are timed to take 
place while shortwave officials are meeting in Elkhart, Ind., May 10?11 
for the annual meeting of the National Association of Shortwave 
Broadcasters and the USA DRM Group at the HCJB Global Technology 
Center.

(Reception reports covering the AWR program from Canada in the 
digital and analog modes will be honored with an endorsed QSL card.
