** OKLAHOMA. 95.1, Dec 30 circa 2100 UT I`m on some errands downtown
including Box 1684, as the `pirate` Xmasmx continues here. Then I
drive by north/back side of Garfield County Courthouse, and see
several signs: ``OG&E / Tree of lights / 95.1 / provided by Sudlow
Engineering``. No wonder the signal has been peaking at downtown. This
is a cone of lights-only making the ``tree``, with several black boxes
around it, maybe including transmitter. I originally did hear an
announcement about Downtown Enid, but since then never anything about
what`s on the signs. Presumably Part 15 sufficiently low-power not to

Madrid, 2302 ``Año Nuevo`` song, and lots more upbeat music next
semihour. Axually by longitude, Madrid and most of Spain should be on

** TURKEY. 9610, Dec 30 at 2152, VOT English slightly better into
Ireland SDR than UTwente, `The Energy Agenda` until 2154, music, 2157
`That`s Why`, the ``last episode`` about volcanoes and magma, such as
Kilauea. 2204 music, 2209 fading down some, but UTwente exacted on
9610.005+. 2223.5 s/off as if 1330 on 13635. 2224 IS first notes only
twice before chop. This could be the penultimate English if it`s all
gone after Dec 31. I catch first part of same broadcast:

2135 I get it VG S9+15/35 via New Delhi SDR, supposed target despite
being 3 AM there, with olds. There is JBA lite musical CCI, presumaly
Mongolian from China. 2140 `Review of the Turkish Press`. 2143
multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2145 `Special New Year Program`
recounting some of the strange/funny stories of 2024. 2200 `Don`t
Worry, Be Happy` song, more music. 2207 starts to fade down as CCI
grows. 2212 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, music. 2217
``with-you-every-hour`` promo, and immediately, `a-b-y-s`` again. 2218
unreadable announcement, could it be farewell? Never heard anything
otherwise about this being final broadcast. 2220 song. I switch back
to UTwente which is now much better, S9+5/15 on 9610.005+, music. 2223
s/off as if 1330 on 13635, 2224 IS to 2225*

5960.003+, Dec 31 at 2257, OCDA S9+40 into UTwente, 2259 starts IS and
IDs for VOT. So it`s on but I`ve already heard most of the English
hour from 2130. The 2218 ``announcement`` turns out to be just music
when I check for it at 2348, 2353 s/off, 2354 IS to 2355.5* chop
uncovering Chinese. We may know by tomorrow whether it survive (Glenn

December 30 at 2035 the 2030 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975, JBA into
UTwente, but S6/7 into Ireland SDR but with some storm crashes from
Blitz no closer than SE Spain and Palestine.

Also confirmed UT Tuesday December 31 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S9/+12
into S TX SDR.

Also confirmed Tuesday December 31 at 1312 the 1400 on WRMI 9955, JBA
direct.

Not confirmed Tue Dec 31 at 1502 the 1500 on WRMI 9955, JBA sounds
rather like Brother Scare, like much stronger TOMBS via WWCR 9980. It
was always strange to have WOR sked already only one hour later than
previous airing. Still shown with both on the System B skedgrid, so
what will happen next week/month/year?

Also confirmed Tuesday December 31 at 2100 on IRRS SW via AM Italia,
1322.999-, S9 but noisy into UTwente. Unknown program about propaganda
about to quote Noam Chomsky was chopped short before 2100. Next:

** U S A. 5920, Dec 31 at 0440, TOMBS is S9+50 from WTWW-1, yet
neighbor on the dial and on the land, 5935, WWCR-2 with PMS is much
weaker, only S9+20/30, so on low power? There had not been any
significant difference before, altho azimuths may be diverse. It`s not
at all clear where lie the major lobes of either.

5890, WWCR-4 is also on at 0443, S9+50 with squeals, but the usual
leapfrog over 5935 attains nothing more than a JBA carrier (Glenn

** U S A. 9395, Dec 31 at 0445, WRMI-6 is unusually OFF; supposedly 24
hours. While 9955, WRMI-3 is S9+20/30 with TOMBS. By recheck 0738,
9395 is back ON, S9+30/40, while 9955 is a JBA carrier. 9455, WRMI-5
remains off for a long time now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 26110 NBFM, Dec 31 at 1634 UT, KMK282 finally audible again,
the auxiliary of KOVR ``13``, Stockton-Sacramento, about NYE preps. At
S7 it`s quite scratchy but readable. 1636 northern California weather
including 39 degrees in Sacramento, ``here in the Valley``. Growing to
S8, less scratchy, and almost clear at S9 peak before 1640 fading
down. DXers further east have been reporting this a lot lately, but no
luck here. In fact, my last definite log was Nov 28, *2023* at 1605.
It seems I`m too close for F2 prop, need sporadic E. 6M Map shows a 43
MHz Es MUF spot over southern Utah, maybe responsible for this (Glenn

UNIDENTIFIED. 1670, Dec 31 at 0748 UT, distorted signal in mix.
Earlier on Dec 30, last check of Virtual DJ Radio, Enid, it was OK.
Both it and Reynosa have been somewhat off-frequency plus, and at
night I usually detect at least two signals significant Hz apart. IRCA
Mexican Log says of XEFCR: ``slightly off-frequency 1670.03 to 1670.05
in 2023`` and someone recently had it on 1670.04 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
