So something`s very odd at Okeechobee. 9455 still silent (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 23250 et al., replies to the WITK PA harmonix; Hugh Whelan: ``Hello all, Thank you Glenn and everyone for the helpful information regarding the probable harmonic at 4650. To be clear, I am in West Pittston (visiting wife's family for Thanksgiving), not at my home in Fort Myers. This location is directly across the Susquehanna River from Pittston. I brought my Airspy HF+ Discovery with me and put out a 60' long wire into a 9:1 Neolec balun. For what it's worth I also sent an email to Wilkins with two recordings, but got an out of office email saying the person was out for the week. Best, Hugh`` Arthur Pozner replies: ``This Kiwi SDR must be very close to the transmitter. Most likely between 2 to 3 km distance. Night power is listed as 500 W, but it is equally as bad. The assigned fundamental (1550 kHz) frequency is S9+60. The strongest is the 3rd harmonic on 4650 kHz and S9+40. Practically all odd harmonics are pretty strong and some are highly distorted. The even harmonics are very low (after dark). Just wondering if the Kiwi and Airspy are both overloaded to a point of passing fairly high level RF as it is so evident`` Rodney Johnson replies: ``Greetings From Minnesota! Either the carrier exciter is overdriven to the point of putting out square waves, where odd harmonics are stronger than even ones is typical, just look a Fourier series of it: https://mathworld.wolfram.com/FourierSeriesSquareWave.html or the receiver front-end is severely overloaded, clipping the incoming carrier in a square like fashion. Since an exciter running like this would likely melt or start a fire, it is more likely the latter. 73s --Rodney`` (via Glenn Hauser, WORLD OF RADIO 2271) UNIDENTIFIED. 660, Nov 28 at 0730 UT, ``ESPN Radio`` ID dominating.
