** COLOMBIA. 10125 CW, Oct 13, 2024 at 0558-0606, the ``keyboard alfabet`` station is back! My nightly routine has including bandscanning from 8900 to 10125, since 10125 occasionally catches Aussie hams in USB phone instead of CW; and also the keyboard station, not heard for ages, and supposedly quit because license expired and was not renewed. It`s exactly the same thing he was sending over and over last year, including signature errors! ``QWETYUIOIX ASDFGHJKLÑ ZXCVBN VVV DE HK3QQ BOGOTA COLOMBIA`` or starting with VVV. NOTE that R is omitted, P is missent as X, and M is also omitted. My previous significant logs, all FROM YEAR 2023! starting here with last time previously heard:
2023: ** COLOMBIA. 10125 CW, Sept 26 at 0607, HK3QQ on again with keyboard-letter-sequence beacon. Could not copy X instead of P after O, so maybe deleted if not corrected (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) 2023: ** COLOMBIA. 10125 CW, April 20 at 0635, once again the strange station sending keyboard letters slowly in sequence: ``QWERTYUIOX ASDFGHJKLÑ ZXCVBNM`` and then much faster: ``VVV DE HK3QQ BOGOTA COLOMBIA`` --- note the error? of X instead of P, like reversed dits and dahs? And the Enye after L; maybe that`s where it lies on a Spanish keyboard. QRZ.com: ``HK3QQ Colombia flag Colombia, Jesús Ernesto Reyes Castro, Bogotà 111156, Colombia Escuela de telegrafia Marconi ilustrado - Colombia Frecuencia: 7.070 CW Beacom VVV De HK3QQ Bogotá Colombia 5W`` Previous logs of this filed under UNIDENTIFIED (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2187){still same info in QRZ.com as of Oct 13, 2024} 2023: UNIDENTIFIED. 10125 CW, April 17 at 0626, series of letters between long pauses. I soon realize it`s reading off a standard keyboard: A S D F G H J K L --- Then faster VVV DE --- and I don`t copy any ID. Then resumes with: Q W E R T Y U I O --- Is this default of some software, or done deliberately? This is of course in the so-called 30m hamband as I am listening for VKs on phone in this area (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11860 & 11930, Oct 13 at 0552, pulse jamming against nothing, R. Martí frequencies never on air at night, duh! So altho RHC can barely get two frequencies defectively on air, the greatest priority of jamming nothing survives! Std remark about undernourished Cubans (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. Re: "More importantly, where`s XEW? Remember when it owned 900 at night, 250 kW? IRCA Mexican Log 2024 says it`s 24h 100/100 kW still on AM; but current mwlist and consequently WRTH 2024 still claim 250 kW, and another Mex on 900, 10/2.5 kW, XEOK Amor Monterrey, which is totally missing from IRCA Log (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)" Tim Hall replies: ``I checked my notes and found that XEOK turned off their AM on or before May 2020. A listener in Monterrey reported the shutdown of the AM to one of the many Mexican radio Facebook groups that I follow as I try to keep the Mexican Log up to date.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 11960 AM, Oct 13 at 0553, English talk about Timishoara, must be RRI; it`s the SSOB at S5/S9, hardly anything else on 25m beyond JBA carrier from France 11700. HFCC lists this as 90 kW at 300 degrees only for WEu from Galbeni: https://new.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=A24&broadc=RRO These versions refuse to show what`s DRM and what`s AM, but reduced power is dead giveaway that it`s supposed to be DRM; master frequency list does mark it N for DRM. But it`s NOT! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SCOTLAND [non]. 7730, UT Sun Oct 13 at 0100, `Encore` classical music hour from R. Tumbril via WRMI; is 44 degree beam, so best remotes for it are in Maryland, S9+5, and slightly better Georgia at S9+10. This airing is supposed to be on System F, 5850 only, but that`s one of few transmitters still not recovered from Hurricane Milton, so I check 7730 on a hunch, as skedgrid used to show 5850//7730 on same system during this hour but was wrong. Sked now claims System L at 0100 UT Sunday on 5950 // 7730 with `Pop Shop Radio`, but that`s really on 5950 only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2264 montoring: NOT confirmed Saturday October 12 at 2300 on WTWW 9475 - never came on air unlike last weeks when popped on just in time. The tower collapsing appears to be very much in the background compared to the two balloons in the foreground, as if one of them could not really have brushed it; false perspective? As for 770 being off the air, I have yet to see any timeline of exactly what happened, but: maybe knocked off the air immediately when tower fell, but it`s the DA tower not in use in the daytime; so if remained on air, probably turned off shortly for evaluation of situation and then back on (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1953 UT October 13 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
