Hauser
** AUSTRALIA. 28266 CW, Sept 3 at 2212, DE VK4RST, beacon getting to
be regular, from St. George, Qsld. See also NZ (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CANADA [and non]. 24955 USB, Sept 3 at 2219, CY9C, ``QRZ up 5``, a
DXpedition, but where? First noticed on 24960 USB where JR6EZE uttered
nothing but his call fonetikaly over and over. This is surely not a
distinct radio country, but a big deal as an Island. QRZ.com:

``CY9C St Paul Island [Canadian] flag St Paul Island, C/o Murray
Adams, P.O. Box 45, Farmville, NC 27828, USA. QSL: ClubLog OQRS or
Direct to WA4DAN.
St. Paul Island Dxpedition, CY9C
August 26 - September 5, 2024
https://t-rexsoftware.com/cy9c/

``St. Paul Island is a small uninhabited island located approximately
24 km (15 mi) northeast of Cape North on Cape Breton Island and 71 km
(44 mi) southwest of Cape Ray on Newfoundland; it is along the
boundary between the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Cabot Strait``

``JR6EZE Japan flag Japan, KAZUNORI KUROKI, 909-1, TONOE,
SHIROISHI-CHO, KISHIMA-GUN, SAGA JAPAN 849-1105, Japan`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, Sept 3 at 0342, RHC English? S9+40 but suptorted and
still no 9700. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 9790, Sept 3 at 0350, CRI English relay is S9/+10 but JBM.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Sept 3 at 0654, S9+20/30 of dead air in Spanish from R.
Rebelde. Earlier at 0340 it was nominal. Something`s always wrong at
RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** HAWAII. 28445 USB, Sept 3 at 2213, working Georgia on the
``Mainland``, therefore must be speaking from Hawaii. No fonetix,
could be AA6V or KH6V, but QRZ.com implies this: ``AH6V Hawaii flag
Hawaii, JEREMY J STORM, PO BOX 21, NINOLE, HI 96773, USA. Ninole
(nee-no-lay) is one of many retired sugar plantation towns along the
north east coast of Hawaii Island. AH6V is inland 4.3 km. and 545 m.
above sea level. This rain forest is best known for birds, bugs,
fungi, wild hogs, amphibians and rain. The temperature here is always
between 12c and 32c. The annual rainfall varies between 4 and 7
meters. Rather damp! ~ 100% POWER FROM THE SUN. ~ AH6V is lost
somewhere in a horse pasture where power line noise can't be heard on
any band`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 1170, Sept 3 at 0703 UT, something Spanish is QRMing KOTV
Tulsa, seemed an ID I could not copy, into Mexmx. The only likely USSS
would be KJJD Windsor CO, but it`s a daytimer. Very likely XERT,
Reynosa, Tamaulipas, 5 kW daytimer which runs 24h, per IRCA Mexican
Log, and I`ve heard it before, March 13, 20 & 22, 2015; December 23,
2014 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 28228 CW, Sept 3 at 2202, EEEEEEE DE ZL3TEN + more.
Beacon getting to  be regular, from Rolleston, Christchurch. JBA,
requiring multiple passes to copy ID. Then QRM from 28229+ at 2209,
dash and call seemed to start with FF but not listed (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6855 USB, Sept 3 at 0345, rock S9+20/30. Tuning
downward, I knew a bigsig was imminent as it was wideband as far up as
6867. These say Radio 48 via Mix Radio International, between 00 and
05 UT with waterfall ID images:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,133360.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 960 & 100.9, Sept 3 at 0334, still 0442, 0521, 0630 UT,
KGWA Enid in dead air but translator RDS reassures us it`s
``KGWA-FM_`` -- NOT! Rather K265FL. The real FM side of KGWA is 103.1
KOFM. I see that WTFDA DB now marx 100.9 MONO as per my info. ``Cagey
Way`` is not to be outdone by crosstown rival KCRC/KZLS in the Dead
Air Sweepstakes! By nulling 960 on the handheld DX-398 I hear two or
three other talkstations mixing, but could not pull an ID by 0400
after one of them weathered. KGWA 960 has come to life by next check
15 UT. Hey, it`s been a holiday. Think of all the undernourished
Enidians who could have been fed for the cost of all that wasted AM&FM
juice (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 27184.79 & 27224.48 approx., AM, Sept. 3 at 1528, Enid CB
pirate is back with S9 but undermodulated relays of 105.5 K288FX
translator of `K-love`, KYLV 88.9 OKC (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA [and non]. 11935.395, Sept 3 at 1606, Qur`an at
S9+20/25 into UTwente on Yemen service, again with heavy ACI from
11940, which is CRI English this hour only via Kashgar, East
Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uighurs and
other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15520 & 15390, Sept 3 at 2158, if it`s Tuesday there must
not be English, but I check REE anyway to find both these OFF the air,
while 17715 & 17855 remain with VG signals. Something`s notright at
Noblejas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, Sept 3 before 2200, no signal direct from VOT, but
then pops on a carrier only S9, fluttery and no modulation. Recheck at
2215, NO signal, so another failed attempt to get English on.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. So we cannot get their take
on news beyond of Turx attacking Americans; maybe tomorrow on the olds
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15016 USB, Sept 3 at 0642, ``all stations, Abundance, break,
[fonetikaly:] X2BK07, I say again...`` I am not positive the
penultimate character was ``zero``. USAF, strong signal but lousy mod
breaking up somewhat with crowd/office noise in background. Repeated
the alfanumerix a few times, and then the axual message starting with
the same and adding a few more, but not really long as often the case,
I did not try to copy. The `Abundance` ID only heard once, and never
the same again (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Reply received Sept 3 for my VOA 6090 DRM report, not heard
again since:

``Hi Glenn, Thanks for the reception information. We were running 6.5
kW pointed south so was surprised that we had enough of a rear lobe
that could be decoded. We are currently running several DRM test to
check propagation for various locales as well as exciter parameters.
At this time, there is not a DRM program scheduled from our station.
Test will be run as time permits. The transmitter is a vintage
Continental 617, 50 kW ISB transmitter that was repurposed for DRM.

Unfortunately, I do  not yet know where the VOA Fulani service on
17630 AM is transmitted from. I will be glad to put you on the list
for a QSL card.

Thanks and best of 73'

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2258 monitoring: confirmed UT
Tuesday September 3 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S9+20/30 direct, following
`Everglades` ID.

Also confirmed Tuesday September 3 at 1305 the 1300 on WRMI 9955, S9
but JBA in noise  level.

Also confirmed Tuesday September 3 at 2005 the 2000 on IRRS SW via AM
Italia, 1322.994, S9+20 into UTwente. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

As a non-commercial service, voluntary financial support appreciated.
Thanks this week to Robert W. Gruska, Glendale NY, for a MO to Glenn
Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 - one may also remit by check on a
US bank in US funds to same address.

Or via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5920, Sept 3 at 0341, this WTWW is still on while 5085 is
off. As of Sept 3, HFCC A24 has still not been updated since Aug 21,
and does not show 5920 for WTWW, but for several other stations.
But FCC must have okayed it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9930, Sept 3 at 1535, TOMBS at S9+15/35, 6 seconds behind //
9980 WWCR at S9/+15. So TOMBS hours on WTWW 9930 have expanded
earlier, A24 HFCC registered as available 14-24 at 180 degrees. The
Overkiller! It`s a safe bet that if you can pick up one Tennessee
station, also the other. But if TOM wants to pay for it, take the
money and run it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5010 & 5050, Sept 3 at 0340, these WRMIs are off while they
are supposed to be on - rather as before, 5050 bears a JBA carrier
hard to explain otherwise than a WRMI exciter-only. The other 5s,
5800, 5850 & 5950 are doing fine as normal, and `Freedom Synergy
Radio` on 5800 is still duplicated on 9955. More anomalies on the 9
MHz band at 0349: 9395 S9+30, 9955 S9+20/30 but 9455 abnormally weak,
S8 JBA. Each on a different azimuth but this is beyond that.
Somethings` odd at Okeechobee. However, at 0653 recheck, 5010 is back
on with TOMBS and 9955 in Spanish presumed RFI relay (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1080, Sept 3 at 0655 UT, KRLD Dallas is getting QRM at about
equal level. I keep listening and at 0700 there is a multi-station ID,
most of them FM translators, but could not copy details in rapid
recitation. Only location caught at start is Evansville, so I look it
up later in NRC AM Log to find there is no Evansville IN on 1080.
Instead, must have been *Edwardsville* IL, which is non-commercial
*WRYT, U7 500/20 watts, Heart of Jesus Radio, with CVN/EWTN. NRC Log
shows no translators but reverse lookup in WTFDA FMDB shows two which
are Relay of WRYT-1080: K216DI 91.1 in Harvey ND!, Covenant Network;
and W224DC 92.7 in Caseyville IL with EWTN. On my E/W longwire which
unfavors Dallas to the SSE. U7 is an unusual antenna combination,
meaning 3 different patterns for daytime, nighttime and critical
hours. NRC Pattern Book shows one itty-bitty loop toward the WSW,
favorable for us. radio-locator.com shows all three: daytime and CH at
380 watts aim thisaway, while night pattern does not, pulled in to
protect KRLD but far from a notch. Anyhow, I strongly suspect WRYT was
NOT on night pattern/power. After IDs at 0700, into religious talk
show with hostess, repeat of something which occurs on first Monday of
each month (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1590, Sept 3 at 0707 UT, ``Those Were the Days``, classic
song in English, 0709 brief Spanish! announcement, another classic
song in English, ``What a Wonderful World``. 0711 I copy ``Ambiente
Clásico`` non-ID and a song in Spanish. So it`s WCGO Evanston (think
Chicago!) IL, as previously logged, a strange station which is also
partly in Russian, e.g. Feb 13, 2024, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. GLOBAL MUSIC is one of my favorite shows, on KUNM
webcast UT Tuesdays 0400-0700. On Sept 3 it`s about ``The Global 500
Greatest Songs of All Time``, playing some and interviewing Alan Tigay
of the blog https://worldlisteningpost.com - check it out. KUNM shows
are in a 2-week archive at kunm.org  I later listened that way to the
third hour, originally a bit too late for me. From the start, select
10 pm MDT Sept 2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
