Logs
** CUBA. 890, UT Sun Aug 18 at 0147, show of Venezuelan music, but
it`s only ``La Onda de la Alegría``. So I seek the spurs on 889 & 891,
and do detect them but still JBA like when I am only hearing WLS on
890 itself, none of it now. WRTH and mwlist show only 2 Cubans on 890,
the 200 kW R. Progreso in Chambas, Ciego de Ávila; and unknown power
R. Revolución in Stgo., so is the latter the spursource?

I thought Ciego meant blind man, and so does Google translate, but:
``People also ask, ¿Por qué se llama Ciego de Ávila?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 17570, Aug 18 at 1427, algo the SSOB, much stronger
than JBA 17600 Algeria, off by 1429 recheck. It`s AWR in Sinhala - not
Sindhi! for Sri Lanka at 1400-1430 per Aoki & EiBi. Trans-equatorial
advantage, but way offbeam (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930 USB, UT Sun Aug 18 at 0143, jabbering loop from
a pirate, S9+10/20. These say it`s Sycko Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,132687.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925 AM, UT Sun Aug 18 at 0144, pirate with
undermodulated music, S9+20/30. Logs after 0225 as Liquid Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,132690.0.html
And also there 24 hours before at 0144 Aug 17 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.004, continued from last report of VOT English,
August 17 at 2252 s/off as if on 17620 at 1230, 2253 IS. 2256 restart
IS with German IDs. 2300 timesignal and open German, finally chopped
off at 2322* when the op woke up. Something`s always erroneous at
Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U A E. UNIDENTIFIED? 9540.15, Aug 18 at 0205, open carrier at
S9+10/20. Aoki shows on plain old 9540, FEBA Radio Pakistan via UAE
site; EiBi shows FEBC Philippines in Urdu via UAE on plain old 9540 --
BUT another block via UAE as 9540.1 at 1615-1700, Sweden`s IBRA R.
Ibrahim for E Africa (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2256 monitoring: ``5085. Sat, Aug
17, 2024. 0259-0330, WTWW-World of Radio, Lebanon-TN, in English. Man
says WTWW ID, repeats and website; 0300 Glenn Hauser presents a dx
program "World of Radio": Highlights country logs and next, reading
dozens of logs; Comments and more; 0329 A brief song and ends the
program. Fair reception: 45433.

9475. Sat, Aug 17, 2024. 2259-2330, WTWW-World of Radio, Lebanon-TN,
in English. 2259 Man says WTWW ID and website; 2300 Glenn Hauser
starts your WOR; Highlights country logs this edition; Next, reading,
in detail, dozens of logs from him and listeners around the world;
2329 Woman says WTWW ID and more. Good reception: 45554. JRX (José
Ronaldo Xavier, 75) Cabedelo-PB, Brazil (UTC/GMT-3)``

As a non-commercial service, voluntary financial support appreciated.
Thanks this week to Richard Terry Colgan, Austin TX, ``Thanks for your
hard work on WOR``, with a contribution via PayPal in US funds but not
necessarily, to woradio at yahoo.com

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Aug 18 at 0159, ``Begin the Beguine`` by a jazzy
orchestra, nice and alarmingly secular - from WRNO?! S9+40/50. 0202
WRNO IDs, by Caleb Owens, e- and p-mail addresses, but 0203 back to
preachery (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1700 kHz, Aug 18 at 0150 UT, S9+20 open carrier and
steady S9+20, a local device? JBA English under, probably Iowa. Most
likely KKLF Richardson [The Metroplex] TX, where official sunset for 5
to 1 kW powerdown in August was 0115 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9229-9246 & 9416-9432 approxes., Aug 18 at 0204, same
OTH radar clickery, not very strong and not hitting any broadcasters
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15743-15749 approx., Aug 18 at 1429, DRMish noise, but
not 10-kHz bandwidth nor centred on a multiple of 5. Not found in DRM
skeds, nor EiBi nor Aoki which have nothing at all on 15745 - anyway a
good spot to insert something. Would you believe Aoki still shows WINB
in DRM on 15735 at 1400-1500 M-F, despite canceled months ago? Anyhow,
that`s close (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
