Logs
** BOLIVIA. Re 6145 not on air earlier July 30: ``I am hearing what
appears to be Radio Betania on 6144.98 with prayers at 1045 UTC tune
in but suffering severe interference from 6140 - DRM or jamming. Bryan
Clark, Mangawhai - New Zealand`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9700, July 30 at 0340, S9+10/20 of dead air in English.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

*** CUBA. 5025, July 30 at 0344, S9+20/30 of dead air in Spanish from
R. Rebelde. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. But 0643 check,
remodulating about Olympix, S9+25/35 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 15440, July  30 at 1445, S Asian song, S3/S6, the SSOB
except for 15825 WWCR getting sporadic E boost. And very little else
on 19mb. It`s TWR in Urdu at 1430-1500. Per EiBi, well-coordinated
site and language changes every semihour: 1330-1400 AWR Thai via
Tajikistan; 1400-1430 AWR Mandarin via Guam; then this (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. DXMAP shows MUF 98 MHz eastward, so out to the car for an
FM DX tunearound, July 30 at 1710 UT: immediately hear Spanish on
88.1, then ``920 AM ... kalientí ... Celaya ... la que manda`` -- so
it is this:

XHRE-FM relays:AM 920 88.1 CELAYA GTO MEX 10.0 kW ERP -73.0 m BELOW
average terrain 20-23-20 100-47-49 Spanish REGIONAL MEXICAN RADIO LOBO
per WTFDA FM Database. 1788 km = 1111 statute miles.

So the sporadic-E season is not quite over. Scanning entire band, only
other sign of Es DX is: 94.1, at 1712 just a bit of Spanish. There are
no Celayans or even Guanajuatans on 94.1; closest to there by G.C.
would maybe be in Hidalgo, CDMX. On 94.1 and many other frequencies,
constant battle among OK and KS fringe signals on a turbulent
100-degree day. Quit at 1737 for lunch; another try at 1834-1840 nets
nothing (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855 & 17715, at 2205 Tue July 30, a non-English day from
REE, instead the Ladino show: if you understand Spanish you can almost
understand this - just some ``odd`` words here and there. YL asking
for listener reports, and then 2207 about ``Romances``, evidently
storytelling in song, some very nice tunes. S9+25/30 on the upper,
slightly less on the lower direct. Thursday is another non-English day
at same hour worth escuching anyway, `Amigos de la Onda Corta`, media
if not DX program (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 6165 & 7275, July 30 at 0332, both VOT English frequencies
for the 0300 broadcast are absent again direct. Something`s always
erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009+, July 30 at 2200, VOT English no signal direct
nor in next few minutes. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. By
2209 recheck it is on at S9/+10 vs high noise level here. At 2235 I`m
on UTwente when measured, S9+45/50. Ms Badax is reading a `Weekly
Commentary` until 2239 music. 2242 `Turkey`s Geomarked Products` about
Malka? yellow cheese made from goat milk. 2245 music. 2249
``always-by-your-side`` promo, music. 2254 s/off ignoring SW,
something`s always awry in Ankara; and IS until 2255* (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2253 monitoring: confirmed UT
Tuesday July 30 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S9+20 direct but vs HSNL.

Also confirmed Tuesday July 30 at 1300 on WRMI 9955, S6/S9 direct, no
jamming audible.

Also confirmed Tuesday July 30 at 2000 on IRRS via AM Italia, 1322.994
kHz, Villa Estense, S5/S7 into Parma SDR. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

As a non-commercial service, thanks this week for financial support
via PayPal in US funds but not necessarily, to woradio at yahoo.com
from William Fenech: ``Glenn - thanks for all your efforts to promote
radio, especially Shortwave radio... 73 and Good DX, William NJ6O``

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9955, UT Tue July 30 at 0640, WRMI at S9+10 in Spanish,
again resuming on-air later than scheduled, with RFI relay not
scheduled now either. Last night it was not on late (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 1280, July 30 at 0350, Black Information Network promos,
IDs; dominant signal at night is WODT New Orleans LA 5/5 kW as we are
in its major lobe to NW/WNW day and night to disserve the Gulf. Was
originally WDSU (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 9960, July 30 at 0640, RV with music, S8/S9 stronger than
usual  and holding its own against 9955 WRMI (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 2319 UT July 30
