** GERMANY. 9670, July 21 at 0131, music at S9+10, no doubt Channel 292. Hard to believe this be only 2 kW as licensed, even considering antenna gain. Publicized as 10 kW; has been known to get time on Moosbrunn, AUSTRIA, 100 kW, but presumably only for sold programming (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ITALY [and non]. 18138 USB, July 21 at 0119, IK2FST calls KA4WHT, after Paul, S9+20 in Pembroke Pines FL calls CQ 17, but instead he answers some other Eurostation, Germany? Surely there be a correlation between the Ogallala Aquifer and the central US region with greatest ground conductivity. That means enhanced coverage of MW and LW signals by groundwave, as we are so fortunate to live in that area. Look for the 30s, which are found nowhere else in the USA - except along the Texas Gulf coast: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:United_States_Effective_Ground_Conductivity_Map.png (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK) ** TURKEY. WORLD OF RADIO 2252 monitoring: confirmed Saturday July 20 at 2300 on WTWW 9474.980, S9+5/20 into Maryland SDR; first I tried UTwente which I already had running for Turkey, registered S7/S9 but JBA to the ear. Not a lobe toward Europe? Who knows. HFCC once showed due south, 180 degrees, but it certainly does well due west. Strangely, latest HFCC has no TWW entries on 5085 or 9475, rather three frequencies not yet? in use, 5830, 9930, 12105; with 9930 only at 180. NOT confirmed UT Sunday July 21 at 0000 on WRMI 9955 into Maryland SDR, music instead, some of it gospel, tho WOR still on WRMI websked. Canceled without notice? What next? Confirmed UT Sunday July 21 at 0331 about 6 minutes into so started circa 0325 the 0315v on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+10/15 into nearby SDR, with HSNL. Also confirmed Sunday July 21 at 1048 the 1030 on WRMI 9955; had not checked in longtime but fortunately happened to awaken. Was supposedly on internet only at this hour per skedgrid; but now the ``except on weekends`` applies. Also confirmed Sunday July 21 at 1900 on IRRS via AM Italia, 1322.995, S8.5 noisy into UTwente across Europe, but better than Trieste SDR gets it. Next: 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 7570 to NW; 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0300vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW [irregular]; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS 1323-Italy; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160. WTWW: George McClintock forwards a series of messages with photos sent to Al Rillera, apparently a visiting engineer, as captioned: ``The Harris SW100 AC breaker went bad and would not turn on. It was replaced with a new one. A lot went bad while you were gone. More bad news to follow tomorrow. We look forward to your return to Nashville. The #1 transmitter high voltage ON, went bad and the transmitter would not turn off. REPLACED. Inductors cleaned. Dirty inductor in the SW100 Harris. Cleaned and lubricated. I have just removed the 4 loading inductors (coils) from the Harris SW100 number 3 transmitter and placed them in cleaning vinegar. After washing, they are ready to be put back into place. These coils were so dirty that the motors were having a difficult time moving them. I had to put a voltage regular in that had been removed and the wires tied together by the previous engineer. The high voltage power supply is working well. George McClintock 7-17-2024 Some of these resistors on the power module have changed value and had to be replaced. This is the phase detector that was bad, causing the transmitter to turn off after a very few minutes or seconds. Unless I am mistaken, this is the relay to keep the SW100 blowers running after shutdown. It does not work. No adjustment seems to make it work. I am in the process of getting another relay from the transmitter in storage in the middle building. George McClintock 7-19-2024`` (via Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 7505, July 21 at 0134 tune-in, JBA carrier, then big open carrier on and off; by 0136 rock at S9+30/40: guess that would have to be gospel rock, on WRNO. IIRC in seasons past there has been something Eastern Hemispherian sharing 7505, but nothing else listed now. Maybe the JBA carrier was WRNO exciter only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, July 21 at 0703 UT, no music, nothing but stupid sportstalk from tigric KWKH LA: KLEY Wellington (Wichita) KS must be off instead of usual 250 W day power cheatery at night; or legal one watt?
