Glenn Hauser logs June 30-July 1-2, 2024

Hauser
** ALGERIA. 17600, July 2 at 0054, JBA carrier. Ifrikya FM, Béchar,
supposedly off between 2200 & 0600 but nothing else listed on 17600
anywhen. Only other significant 16mb signals 17675 NZ, 17715 & 17855
Spain. Seldom have a strong signal from it direct even over daypath
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, July 1 at 0637, RHC dead air still on with whine/tone,
S9+10/15. No others found. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15230, July 2 at 0059, RHC English, suptorted and breaking
up, and no signals on 6000 or 9700. Hardly any othersigs on 19mb
making this at S5/S6 the second SSOB after 15770 WRMI which is S9+20.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1020, July 2 at 0021 UT, KOKP Perry finally back on air
with Triple-Play Sports Radio, after 6 days silent following
hurricane-force windstorm early UT June 26 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1020, June 30 at 1929 UT check, KOKP Perry is still off.
Must have had serious damage in June 26 windstorm (Glenn Hauser, Enid,
WOR) {:correxion to time in these two, not 2029 and 2030:}

** OKLAHOMA. 1170, June 30 at 1930 UT, KOTV-AM Tulsa: was to change
calls
from KTSB and format from sports as of June 26 but not checked until
now vs high noise level: Oklahoma weather, then news by local anchors,
1936 more Oklawx. Sounds like it is ``News on 6`` subchannel of
KOTV[TV!]. Now that makes some sense, but is that it 24/7? (Glenn
Hauser, Enid, WOR) {Yes, News on 6 IDs: these are not continuous ``new
news`` but olds: replays over & over of latest real newscast aired,
like also on sibling station KWTV OKC, ``News 9`` on RF 25, not to be
confused with KOKH ``25`` on RF 24. KOTV main RF is 26, Newson6 26.3}

** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, July 1 at 1705 UT, K17JN-D, Enid`s only local TV
signal is off again, the 3ABN multi-channel satellator; no sign of DX
signals on any other channel, so not just QRMed by KTEN, altho area
tropo is supposedly enhanced per APRS map. Oops, NOT off. Punching 17
on the STB prefers to go to RF 36, I don`t recall what station that
used to be. Its absent subs alternate with those of ``K17JI-D``. STB
has retained wrong ID display, K17JI-D which really applies to a
California station!You`d think a station really matching RF channel
with virtual channel would achieve priority (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, July 1 at 2200, VOT English not off the air: s/on
says you can hear us by satellite or internet, no mention of SW. Maybe
I am wasting my time hearing them on a nonentity medium? Some versions
do mention SW, but only 17620 at 1230, NEVER this or any other repeat
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2249 monitoring: Not confirmed
Sunday June 30 at 2025 the 2000 on WRMI webcast only: has been
replaced by something else on sked. Still confirmed the 2000 on WRN
Europe webcast.

Also confirmed Sunday June 30 at 2156 the 2130 on SW Gold Radio,
Germany, 3975.000, S9+10 and 6160.001, S9+5/15 into UTwente.

Also confirmed UT Sunday June 30 at 2330 on WRMI 7570, S9+10/20 into
Georgia SDR.

Also confirmed UT Monday July 1 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S7/S9 into
Querétaro SDR, closer to where it`s aimed, but this early better into
Georgia SDR, S9/+10.

Also confirmed UT Monday July 1 after 0300 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160
-69 Hz = 6159.931, S9+5/15 into Georgia SDR.

Aldo confirmed Monday July 1 at 1953 the 1930 on SW Gold Radio,
Germany, 6160.001 and 3975.003, VG into UTwente. Next:

0300vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW [irregular];
1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW [irregular?];
1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?];
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

UNIDENTIFIED. 1020 kHz, July 1 at 0622 UT in continued absence of KOKP
Perry OK, SAH of 200/min = 3.3 Hz, between a musical and a talkical
station, likely the two 50 kW, KCKN Roswell NM and KDKA Pittsburgh PA.
MWOffsets shows their exact frequencies 1019.9946 and 1019.9973,
respectively, i.e. 2.7 Hz apart; but KCKN has had a wider variability
range which could account for 3.3. In USA there are a few other 1020s
at night with much reduced power except for never-heard KTNQ Los
Angeles. Maybe another possibility here, KMMQ Plattsmouth NE, 50/1.4
kW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 0228 UT July 2
