Glenn Hauser logs June 17-18, 2024
Wednesday, June 19 2024

Hauser
** KOREA NORTH. 15180, June 18 at 0651, classical piano music with
orchestra, S9, brief announcement in unknown language, 0655 to open
carrier. Aoki shows VOK in French until 0657 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SLOVAKIA [non]. 15770, June 18 at 0654, Spanish about Eslovaquia on
WRMI, S7/S9, RSI sked daily at 0630; the 0030 on 5010 would be more
convenient (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009, June 18 at *2200 + a few sex, JBA carrier direct
from VOT comes on. But tuning UTwente at 2223, NO signal. Recheck 2256
when measured, now it`s on with IS, IDs in German, S9+35/45, 2300
timesignal 2 sex late, and opening extraneous German. Something`s
always erroneous at Emirler. 2305.5* chopoff, no finesse (June 17 amid
FM DX opening, I missed checking this, nor Spain) (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2247 monitoring: confirmed UT
Tuesday June 18 at 0330 on WRMI 7780, S9/+15 into Louisiana SDR.

Also confirmed Tuesday June 18 at 1300 on WRMI 9955, S9 direct, no
jamming audible. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

As noncommercial services, financial support appreciated. By MO or
check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK
73702.

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5850, June 18 at 0702, WRMI-12 is unusually absent instead
of TOMBS, no loss. But would be a loss if still off instead of System
D at 08-09 & 12-13 UT, System F at 10-11 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15150, June 18 at 0650, NO signal from WMLK; but plenty of
others on band. Must have decided to turn it off instead of dead air
as noted 26 hours ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re no 15610 or 12050: ``Glenn, Apologies for not providing a
timely reply. WEWN has maintenance concerns and we hope to perform the
necessary corrections and be back on as soon as possible. Thanks for
the inquiry. Hope you are doing well. Glen`` Tapley -- a single N in
his name, June 18 (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** U S A. With 100 MHz MUF spike NW of here, another try for Es FM DX,
June 18 from 2235 UT on caradio: no Es but some area obs as far as
Nebraska:

93.5 at 2235, ``weather for Red Dirt (nation?), on My Country 93.5:
KKDT Burdett KS 95/95 kW, normal fringer; 2239 tone and NWS warning,
f/out. I thought Red Dirt was more of an Okie thing.

93.9 at 2237, KIMY Watonga OK has *finally* resumed modulating after
5+ days of dead air. Plugs Xmas music all during July on one of The
Gospel Station streams.

95.7 at 2238 and still past 2322, dead air in $ tereo from KXLS Lahoma
OK, and of course also on co-located sibstation 107.1 KNID North Enid.
We have only two commercial radio clusters here and this one keeps
failing.

93.1 at 2242, ``93.1 The River, Nebraska`s country station`` surpasses
usual Kansan in the way. Probably to do with storm front across
central KS and NE. This is: KRVN-FM Lexington, 100/100 kW, related to
the 880 AM station. 514 km/319 stmi

101.3 at 2245, ``Oklahoma`s best country, K-Law 101`` vs heavy CCI
from Wichita. 100/100 kW, KLAW Lawton.

92.7 at 2248, OKC traffic report in sideband of but not // 92.5 KOMA.
Oops, no such translator listed. Is it really bleeding out of the 92.5
signal? Very distorted (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

This report dispatched at 2326 UT June 18
