Logs
** CHINA [and non]. 11900, June 11 at 1457 noise jamming over a JBA
carrier; at 1500 ``Yankee Doodle Dandy`` of VOA sign/off audible until
1501* by when jamming also stopped. This hour only, 14-15 UT is VOA
Chinese via PHILIPPINES. Not Firedrake or CNR1 jamming, but noise,
very unusual for China. At first I thought it might be the Sa`udi
noiseblob ex-11935 where there is nothing now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 15180, June 11 at 1926, continuous traditional Chinese
instrumental music, no announcements and no vocals, S5/S7 with flutter
into Maryland SDR. Not as percussively raucous as Firedragon used to
be. Nothing in Aoki, EiBi or latest HFCC to account for any CRI
language being music-filled or anything else ``needing`` jamming
during this hour. Off abruptly at 2000*. Could it be a NF for e.g.
Portuguese which is sked this hour on some other frequencies but
always music-fill only? I check all those frequencies into UTwente, as
well as all other possible languages, mostly music but nothing is //
15180. Unless totally wrong, most likely vs Sound of Hope on an
unknown and perhaps unused frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, June 11 at 0635, R. Rebelde is absent again.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. The Other Side:

``DDC READ TODAY THE CUBA OF TOMORROW
June 11, 2024 OPINION The Bells Are Ringing Again

The regime's days are numbered: blackouts and protests, increasingly
original and daring, have become everyday events in Cuba.

OMAR LÓPEZ MONTENEGRO | Miami
Protest in Santiago de Cuba, on May 30. (DIARIO DE CUBA)[caption]

On Thursday, May 30, young people from the José Martí district, in the
city of Santiago de Cuba, staged a unique protest taking the form of a
conga march touring different neighborhoods in the populous city, the
country's second most important, singing refrains that called for
"electricity" and "food."``...

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140 & 11760, June 11 at 1921, NO signals into Maryland SDR,
during first English hour of RHC where something`s always wrong (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GUAM. 15625.07 approx., June 11 at 2205, JBA direct, talk sounds
Chinese. KSDA scheduled this hour. A second hour at 2300 switching to
Sri Lanka would likely be on a different exact frequency (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 255 MCW kHz, June 11 at 2049 UT, still intolerable local
line noise level especially on LW & MW, but diminished just barely
enough to copy beacon SW, StillWater, so still/again on the air (Glenn
Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 11745.012, June 11 at 2234, S9+20 in Arabic, presumed
Al Azm, for forces in Yemen; earlier someone reported it on 11935
instead, confusion at transmitter site or logger? with Rep. of Yemen
Radio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.019, June 11 at 2158 no signal direct from VOT
English. Finally cuts on at 2159.5 with dead air, no IS, until 2201
JIP Ms Badax with presumed olds, too much noise at S8/S9 vs VOT at
S9+10/20. Into UTwente at 2231 when measured further off-frequency
than usual, Ms Badax in commentary about Pak/India, music. 2246
`Turkey`s Geomarked Products` about carpets -- maybe they are not
trying to say ``geomarketed`` which would mean exported, sold abroad,
while geomarked seems to be something about marking sources of
products on a map. 2249 music. 2254 Badax s/off as if the 1230,
chopoff at 2254.7* before IS can start. Something`s always erroneous
at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15120, June 11 at 2203, S9/+10 of dead air, presumably
Grimesland failing to turn off VOA after Bambara until 2200 weekdays
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2246 monitoring: confirmed UT
Tuesday June 11 at 0337 the 0330 on WRMI 7780, S5/S8 into way offbeam
NH SDR.

Also confirmed Tuesday June 11 at 1307 the 1300 on WRMI 9955, S8/S9
direct. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;

** UZBEKISTAN. 15474.73 approx., Tue June 11 at 1449, JBA carrier
direct, no doubt Tashkent as scheduled on ``15475`` with Furusato no
Kaze. Not a trace of LRA36 which should be on 15475.98 RC USB, Tue at
1300-1500 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 2319 UT June 11
