** BRAZIL. 4885, June 9 circa 0645 routine bandscan, still zero from R. Clube do Pará. It used to be 24h, always audible around my 06-07 UT chex; not heard for months and had not noticed any reports of it earlier until this one, in the NASWA iog: ``Robert Wilkner - Pómpano Beach, Flórida, 4885, Brasil, Rádio Clube do Pará, Belém, PA, 0100 to 0112 with fair signal music 4 June`` -- Of course, Echo of Hope and/or N Korean jamming also on 4885 but would not be audible at either daytime hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6000, June 9 at 0222, RHC not off the air, strong but JBM in presumed English; 9700 not on; 9580 with CRI in Chinese also JBM. Somethings` always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11760, Sunday June 9 at 1513, RHC in weekly Esperanto, S6/S7 into Maryland SDR but no signal on 15140. Note that nouns, even proper names, must end in -o, thus ``Radio Havano Kubo`` and stress invariably penultimate, so it`s ra-DEE-oh. ESL speakers however cannot always break their Spanish pronunciations of some words, like polítiko. 1519 a song in Esp`o with guitar (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6950 USB, June 9 at 0223, pirate rock at S9+5 including high storm noise level, HSNL, the only pirate on band, OPOB. Never in a sesquimegayear would I have guessed it`s Barf Nugget Radio as per several reports here: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,130310.0.html There was an SSTV ID at 0227, off at 0236 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 89.3, June 9 circa 1645 UT and anytime, KIEL, Loyal, the 3ABN station a.k.a. R. 74 Internationale, remains in MONO only whether music or talk, and I should add is constantly undermodulated, which seems odd for an FM station, altho a pervasive problem with AM signals on SW or MW, presumably because of ageing equipment incapable of full modulation. Despite my previous reports, WTFDA FMDB still does not mark it MONO (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 91.7, Sunday June 9 at 1659 UT as I am hunting for Es DX, notice that KOSU is in $ tereo music, and indeed ToH ID also branding as ``The Spy``. On weekdays the rule is mono until 0000 UT with NPR/etc. news/talk, then $ $ py. This is amid a bihour 16-18 UT program per sked, `Toaster Brunch` of Jamaican music [not to be confused with low-power 6YC-395 in Kingston or 6YC-648 in Montego Bay]. But there is more $ py on weekends; trouble is, KOSU sked does not make it clear which are which nor which are mono! `The Spy` is title of specific local-originated music blox, but also applies to music stuff from elsewhere. O, this explains that Toaster Brunch is the only Spy-program outside the overnight blox, along with convoluted history of The Spy branding from one OK station to another, to another, etc.: https://www.kosu.org/show/the-spy I suppose there could be some non-Spy programming with a musical element, whether or not KOSU master control bother to switch $ tereo on and off. I suppose The Spy deal be financially advantageous for KOSU as it has endured, despite discouraging public-radio contributors who would not want any of their money going to support that for which KOSU has semisold its soul (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 107.7, June 9 at 1633 past 1700 UT as I am fruitlessly bandscanning for any Sporadic E, can`t help but notice dead air in $ tereo here, where near-local quality 92/92 kW KRXO OKC should be, silly sportstalk. Not only on caradio but on DX-398 showing static RDS: _CHISE___ -- but that may be holdover from another frequency as I can`t get it again by tuning away and back. A remote possibility poor KRXO is being supplanted here by yet another idling Part 15 RF feeder, but why would it not be on a `clear` frequency? 1830 recheck still DA, and RDS icon does display tho nothing in the RDS window. Depending on whip angle, seems to be a weak modulated undersignal, but probably from overload (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. Continued from last report: VOT English, 11785.009, into UTwente June 8 at 2253 reverted to Ms Badax` s/off claiming this was the 1230 on 17620, and IS until chop at 2255.8* just in time to avoid switching to German IDs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2246 monitoring: confirmed Saturday June 8 at 2300 on WTWW 9475, VG S9+40 direct. Also confirmed finally starting at 2330 instead of 2333 on IRRS/NEXUS/IBA/IPAR webcast, and playing to completion 2359. However, I noticed another show was faded out incomplete before 2330, `Off the Wall`. A bit I heard seemed to be anti-*rump tho a clip of him played. It originates with WUSB on LINY and its podcast at least times a full 60 minutes: https://www.2600.com/offthewall/ -- at 0000 June 9, IRRS webcast started `Feature Story News`, which used to precede WOR at 2330, but dumped out of it after a few seconds, into piano music until 0005 and then dead air. Specific programming before and after is unaccounted for on the IRRS sked as in so much of their 24/7, generic. Altho I was notified explicitly of it last week that WOR would air Sundays at 11:30 CEST [0930 UT] when SW 9510 is on, that does not show on sked yet. Does anyone hear it? I really need to be sound asleep at that time; and so I was June 9. Unfortunately, I was so involved with IRRS that I forgot to check for WOR on WRMI 9955 at 0000 UT Sunday. Did anyone hear it? Confirmed UT Sunday June 9 from 0420 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, another very late start more than an hour past nominal 0315v. Followed `TWIAR`. Heavy storming across the southern half of MO, so I played better into Peoria than much closer Warrenton. Also confirmed Sunday June 9 after 3-minute Verdi theme at 1900, WOR starting at 1903 and still faded down and out at 1930 two minutes before I am finished, for ID and VOA News on IRRS via AM Italia, 1322.995 kHz, S9+15 into nearby Noale SDR. Next: 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 7570 to NW [NEW]; 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0300vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW [irregular?]; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?]; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160. As noncommercial services, financial support appreciated. By MO or check in US$ on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702. One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9955, UT Sunday June 9 at 0650, like last night, q.v., WRMI in unscheduled Spanish, assumed then to be RAE relay. Now S7/S9 direct, interview in Spanish mainly about Chile. I`m listening carefully and there is never a clue that it`s RAE other than proximity. At 0659 no program outro or ID, pause, NO WRMI ID either, 0700 into ``Radio Poland`` in English. In fact ``Polish Radio External Service`` is on the A24 WRN North America schedule at 0700-0800 daily; but at 0630-0700 it`s NHK, in English of course (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 101.3, June 9 at 1648 UT, ad for Burlington, in Garden City. Surely this be KFDI-FM in distant Wichita, our semi-local, but guess what? WTFDA DB shows in KS one entry besides KFDI-FM with 100 kW, is a 100-WATT CP, 14m high antenna for a NEW station on 101.3 in GARDEN CITY! Which I am surely not getting, but I wonder if planned to be a mere booster for KFDI, jumping the gun with local ad for GC?? (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1953 UT June 9
