Logs
** CUBA. 5025, Apr 22 at 0649, R. Rebelde is OFF. Had been reliably on
lately, not specifically logged. Something`s wrong at wRadio Cuba
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [non]. A split-second shot of a caradio dial animated
during `The Simpsons` on Fox UT Apr 22 clearly displayed KRIG 99.1 -
what are the legal risks of using a real radio call in fixion? FCC FM
Query shows KRIG-FM exists in Nowata OK, but on 104.9, and furthermore
has no translator on 99.1 or anywhere. Does that get them off the
hook, not connecting it to a real frequency? Or does no one care? Or
would a station even welcome the free publicity? Altho hardly anyone
but me would follow up to seek it out really. KRIG is part of a
Bartlesville-based cluster. I`ve asked the GM for his reaxion. Already
had a brush with fame:
https://www.bartlesvilleradio.com/pages/krig-104-9-fm
``KRIG Radio is the featured radio station in the movie “Possums,”
created with Mac Davis and Coach Barry Switzer``

Then got this brief reply from Kaleb P, the GM: ``Hey thanks! Will
look into it. KP`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Mon Apr 22 at 2202, token English from SNR, S9+20/30
direct, 2203 news about Canary Islanders protesting being overrun by
7X as many tourists as their own population last year. At 2219 check
15520 which is almost as good, S9/+10 off the back toward ME. Feature
is interview about Cecilia and the Spanish Civil War (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009, Sun Apr 21 at 2200, VOT not off the air, S9+50
into UTwente, news with the badax; mid-breaks for ``The news
continues...`` with stinger and again at 2215. 2217 `Weekly Analysis`
repeat about Iran vs Israel. 2224 multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2226
``always-by-your-side`` promo, and `The Letterbox Program``. 2229
about Ankara weather, holidays after Eid. First letter about World
Theatre Day 7 March, someone from India. Then about Good Friday.
Konstantin Barsenko, St Pete, Russia. Is this a repeat? Seems
familiar. Ricky Hein - lost connexion - Ralf Urbanski, Germany. James
O`Brien, country unknown. Lithuania. Pakistan. Anatoly Klepov,
Moscow. 2246 mx. 2251 s/off by badax with jumbled partial English
sked not including this one. 2252 IS. 2256 pause and restart IS, with
German IDs. Keeps going past 2300 mit Zeitsignal, Empfang,
Nachrichten. Still going at 2324 during music. Finally chops off at
2335*. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009, Mon Apr 22 at 2201, VOT English not off the air,
but VG direct S9+10/20. Unfortunately it`s the badax`s turn to cast
the news - I mean olds. 2213 ends, `Review of the Turkish Press`. 2216
music. Some ACI from 11780 Brasil unless USB tuning. 2234 into UTwente
when measured, S9+40 music. 2237 `That`s Why`, duration of day and
night trippingly spoken by Ms badax. ~2242 music. 2253 headlines
including 4/23 as some kind of special Turkday; and s/off for the 1230
only. 2254 IS. 2256 restart IS and one German ID before 2256.7*
chopoff. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2239 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
April 21 from 2000.7 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.995 kHz (not 918
nor 207), S9+5 into UTwente. There is very light CCI, sounds
Qur`anish, or maybe just SWAsianish? Presumably the one Iran station
on 1323, but trying 3 of the Kuwait SDRs, they are not getting it at
this hour. Tanzania 1323 is inactive. The only other European is
Romania`s minority service, which can certainly QRM us, but unlikely
Asianic nor on air this late; in Hungarian, German, et al.?

1323: WRTH print 2024 on page 592 has Akash Radio, Leeds, Leeds, UK,
but it has been removed from online mwlist. It was only 30 watts. But
could it be the CCI? Website still refers to DAB, 1323, even if
defunct there, as traditional identity. Seems it`s primarily Punjabi:
https://akashradioleeds.co.uk/about-us/

Would it do Qur`an? Maybe, Wikipedia: ``Today the majority of
Pakistani Punjabis follow Islam with a small Christian minority, and
less Sikh and Hindu populations, while the majority of Indian Punjabis
are either Sikhs or Hindus with a Muslim minority. Punjab is also the
birthplace of Sikhism and the movement Ahmadiyya.``

WOR 2239 also confirmed Sunday April 21 at 2135 the 2130 on SW Radio
Gold, Germany, 6159.994, S7/S8 and fading down into UTwente but with
RTTY ACI from plus side unless bandwidth reduced below 8 kHz. Also on
better 3975.001, S9/+10.

Also confirmed UT Monday April 22 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9+5/15 into
Querétaro SDR, let it play in background but noticed at 0053 has
dumped to music fill, maybe a bit earlier! Later I recheck the WOR
file sent to WRMI and find nothing wrong with it - like a long pause
which could have tripped a silence-sensor, if any. I hope this is not
happening to any other WRMI airings.

Also confirmed UT Monday April 22 from 0301.5 on Area 51 via WBCQ
6159.930, S9+20/10 into Georgia SDR with high storm noise level off
the SE USA coast.

Also confirmed Monday April 22 from 1931 on SW Gold Radio, Germany,
6160.001, S9/+10 into UTwente, // 3975.001, S8/S9 and noisy. Next:

0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW [not sked but confirmed Apr 9, 16]
1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?]
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975
1200 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB or 3210-USB
1230 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB or 3210-USB
[previous #2238][SW suspended but still streamed?]
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160

As noncommercial services, financial support appreciated. Thanks this
week to John N9JL Lutz, Shorewood IL, who sent a check in US funds to
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702.

One may also contribute, not necessarily in US funds, via PayPal to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (7490v), Sun Apr 21 at 2200, WBCQ webcast repeating the
latest `AAAWWW` of Apr 20, as filler of Available Time Slot; unneeded
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, Apr 22 at 1535, JBA carrier from WLCR via WBCQ.
Propagation depressed, yet 9980 WWCR remains inblasting S9+25. 9330
should be 500 kW, or 250? on 253 degree beam thisaway. 9395 WRMI is
also JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 12050, Apr 22 at 1532, still 1755, 1820, NO signal from WEWN
Spanish. Prop depressed but ought to be something. WWCR 12160 at
similar distance remains blasting S9+30 at my first check. Wonder
what`s wrong? 12050 supposed to start at 1400 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
