Logs
DX/SWL/MEDIA PROGRAMS updated April 4:
http://www.worldofradio.com/dxpgms.html

** ARGENTINA [non]. A Dario in Italy asked me whether RAE relay in
Italian is really airing at 12-13 M-F on 15770 as in WRMI skedgrid. I
try very hard to be asleep at that hour, but it shows another Italian
at 16-17 Mon-Thu on 15770, so I check that at 1610 Wed Apr 3: dead air
JBA into UTwente, and definitely dead air into Maine SDR. RAE relays
are extremely unreliable. There was also dead air at 1430 on 9955,
supposedly RAE in French. At best, there would be multilingual RAE IDs
over and over, but no programming. Note: ``dead air`` means a signal
transmitted but no modulation. If there is no signal at all, don`t
call it dead air (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** JAPAN [and non]. 13650, April 2 at *2325, NHK IS starts, mixing
about equally into UTwente with CRI ``Portuguese`` fill music only
from 2300 on Cuban relay as has been the case for years. NHK
Vietnamese sked to start at 2330 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KUWAIT. 11970 & 15530, April 3 at 0502, and several chex past 0619,
NO signals from R. Kuwait into Kuwait SDR and UTwente. There used to
be two sesquihours of English at 05-08. At 0548 however, OTH radar was
hitting 11970. Yet WRTH A24 update also as of April 3:

``English Days Area kHz
0500-0800 daily Eu 15530kbd
0500-0800 daily SAs 11970kbd (D, i)
1800-2100 daily Eu 15540kbd (D, t)``
Does the 15540 broadcast exist, either? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Wed April 3 at 2200, SNR finally gets its new NAm
frequency going on 4th day of A24 season, sufficient on DX-398 with
reelout clipon, but some deep fades. Topic to be the only museum in
the world about the Spanish Civil War, which is not in Spain, but
Canada! But first the news, leading with Spain recognizing Palestine
in the UN as an independent country? 2208 A24 sked in future tense but
this is the future, again nothing specific about English. 2209 feature
interview with a founder of that museum. I listen to the whole thing
but they never mention *where* in Canada it be! FYI, Canada is almost
20X the area of Spain. They did mention a website, once toward the end
so I could not copy it. So I go to google.

There is a *virtual* SCWM based in Barcelona,
https://spanishcivilwarmuseum.com/
and three other cities in Spain have some kind of lead. I never heard
about it being virtual during the interview, but here`s one with a
Canadian URL, still hiding any physical location:
https://www.vscw.ca/
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.007, April 3 at 2200 check into DX398 with clipon,
VOT English confirmed active but quite inferior direct to Spain 17855
so that`s what I mainly listen to. Via UTwente at 2253 when measured,
S9+45/50, s/off as if the 1230 on 17620, and IS. 2256 restart IS with
German IDs interspersed. 2300 timesignal and s/on German, possibly
correct times and frequencies of earlier non-extraneous German.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. Wakes up and chops it off at
2311.7* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 17690.000, April 3 at 1710, R. Martí in Spanish toward
Ukraine, ex-17680, audible at Maryland SDR but too close to NC.
S9+10/20 into UTwente --- also with ticking OTH radar ranging
17670-17710, suspiciously as if employed for jamming, but no bother on
center frequency at UTwente where measured. And radar gone by 1741
recheck.

Strangely enough, neither 17690 nor 17680 in latest HFCC April 3, the
only GB entries on 16m being VOA on 17530, 17850. Lower RMs for Cuba
do appear. Nor does 17865, if that still apply for R. Martisky on
weekends 13-17; no conflicts there. 17680 is out because now it`s NHK
via France at 17-19 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2236 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday
April 2 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S8/9+10 into UTwente, surprisingly good
since it`s aimed NNW.

Also confirmed new time of Tuesday April 2 at 2330 on SW Radio,
Germany, 3975.002, S9/+5 into UTwente - just as I am announcing the
SWR WOR times but before this additional one was known.

Not confirmed Wednesday April 3 at 1400 on WRMI 9955, secret time but
had been there for several months, rather finally running as per sked,
`Frecuencia al Día`, in Spanish, VP direct, confirmed as that via
webcast at 1427. WOR had been on sked Thursday at 1400 (1500 winter),
but never airing, and now that is off the sked anyway. Altho heard
this week, I also see that the WOR, UT Tue 0330 on 7780 has been
eliminated. 1430 M-F on 9955 is supposedly RAE, Argentina in French
but abnormally nothing but multilingual IDs over and over, yet today
it was silence with transmitter still on the air. Something`s odd at
Okeechobee. More at separate WRMI log below.

WOR confirmed Wednesday April 3 from 1931 on SW Radio, Germany,
6160.001, S9+10 and 3975.001, S9+5/15, into UTwente.

Confirmed Wednesday April 3 at 2109 the 2100 on WBCQ, 7490-, S7/S9
into Maryland SDR. Next:

0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160
