Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, LRA36: as in last report, still running
at 0035 UT Jan 7; by next check at 0202 into Argentine remote, it`s
gone (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 4885, Jan 7 at 0438, zero signal from R. Clube do Pará,
gone again after weak appearance last night. Usual weak sig from 4985
much further RBC so prop is OK (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, Jan 7 at 0442, RHC English S9+20 but JBM, yet this time
with parasitic spur carriers on 5990 & 6010, the upper hetting I am
confident the off-frequency Brasil. Somethings always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, Jan 7 at 1542, this RHC is missing; but 11760 is on
VG, and then I find // music on two unskeds: 15230, at 1544, VP S6/S9
undermodulated; and at 1550, 9710, S3/S6! All this may have affected
Sunday Esperanto at 1600, unrechecked. When are the extras supposedly
sked? Aoki: 9710 Bejucal, 11-15, 21-04; 15230 Titán Quivicán, 12-15,
22-05. EiBi: 9710 NOT; 15230 Q, 13-16, 23-06 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** JAPAN [non]. 6165, Jan 7 at 0444, something fair in Russian. EiBi
shows NHK at 0430-0450 via D-n = Nauen, GERMANY (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 293 MCW kHz, Jan 7 at 0756 UT, FBY, 25- or 50-watt ND beacon
at Fairbury, NE. JBA, but the noise blanker on the NRD 545 makes the
difference vs my intolerable LW noise level. I have been looking for
this for months, not detecting even a carrier, and suspected to have
been off. Last logged Oct 18, but maybe heard somewhat later, as it
had been so regular. It used to be my most reliable Nebraskan, even in
daytime. It is after all, just beyond Kansas at lat. 40-10-36 N (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2244 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday January 7 at 0100 on WRMI 9955, S9+10 into Georgia SDR.

Also confirmed starting at 0508 UT Sunday January 7 the 0415v on
WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+20 into nearby SDR.

Also confirmed Sunday January 7 at 1144 the 1130 on WRMI 9955, S9+25?
direct. Next:

2100 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW
0400vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW
1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?]
0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1200 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB or 3210-USB
1230 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB or 3210-USB
[previous #2223][SW suspended but still streamed?]
1500 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [unsked but reconfirmed Jan 3]
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0230 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

As noncommercial services, financial support appreciated. Thanks this
week to Chris Krug, KC5IIE, Tulsa OK, for a contribution via PayPal,
in US funds but not necessarily, to woradio at yahoo.com and says, ``I
very much appreciate all the hard work and dedication, Glenn! SWL is
alive and well thanks to your efforts. Happy 2024!``

One may also contribute via MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7489.9+ approx., UT Sun Jan 7 at 0400, Pirate Joe with some
non-delusional comments about T****. TG for Free Speech on WBCQ; 0404
plays an old scratchy song. `Shortwave Saturday Night` runs 02-05 UT
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VATICAN. 15565, Jan 7 at 1546, VR at S9+20/30, the SSOB, despite
supposedly beaming toward E Africa, 180 degrees off? Or no
back-radiation suppression? Just another of countless examples of this
situation. Language at 1530-1600 daily is Amharic. Continues until
1830 in Swahili, Somali, English 1630-1700, French, Tigre, Portuguese.
Something`s suspicious at SMG (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 518 kHz, Jan 7 at 0422 UT, NAVTEX beepery.
DXinfocentre.com has too many choices around here for 0420 UT: VCK,
Moisie, Canada: HJW, Santa Marta, Colombia; NMC, Point Reyes, USA.
Countless of these worldwide are scheduled in 10-minute segments;
other main frequency 490 kHz where I`ve never heard it, and a few
others scattered in this area (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Jan 7 at 0407:
585, 612, 693, 774-2, 837, 855, 882, 891, 909, 999, 1053, 1089, 1098,
1107. A later 10/kHz scan at 0423 adds 711 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1430 kHz, Jan 7 at 0413 UT, Spanish gospel huxter raving
about María, and still at 0430 check: must be RCC Marian cult. Loops
roughly NW/SE. NRC AM Log has best three possibilities right next to
each other; SS:REL is KMES Ogden UT, Esne Radio, unknown if Catholic;
two Texans with EWTN and Guadalupe R Network, not specified as SS, but
isn`t Guadalupe? No echo. From website, GRN seems mostly English but
some Spanish; not clear if one language per station or mixed: KEES
Gladewater and KSHJ Houston, both 5/1 kW. Looking at the NRC Pattern
Book, 2013, I see that for 1430 the enumeration is one digit off! 52
Gladewater is really Houston, and there is no 53 which is supposed to
be Houston. OK is also off: 41 on the map is obviously Alva, but on
the key it`s 42 while 41 is Newark OH! So where is Gladewater TX? in
the NE near Longview. I merely wanted to evaluate which had the more
favorable night pattern thisaway: both are no good with most signals
E/W or south. If really on day pattern/power, KEES is ND and KSHJ
thisaway. KMES certainly no good, N/S day and night. FWIW, some three
hours later, no Spanish to be heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 1947 UT January 7
