Logs
** GERMANY [and non]. Gruß an Bord underway from 1800 UT Dec 24 - the
annual greetings for German mariners from Norddeutscher Rundfunk via
SW relays:

The lineup via AER El Dial:
1800-2100 en la ISS de 6030 250 kW / 251 grados al Atlántico Noreste
1800-2100 en TAC de 6080 100 kW / 301 grados a Europa
1800-2100 en 9635 NAU 250 kW / 130 grados al Océano Índico
1800-2100 en 11650 ISS 250 kW / 148 grados a Atlántico/Océano Índico (
S.Af )
1800-2100 en 13725 NAU 250 kW / 205 grados al Atlántico Sur
1800-2100 en 15770 100 kW / 044 grados al Atlántico Noroeste

Checking UTwente from 1803: 6080 via Uzbekistan best as to be
expected, aimed back toward Europe; axually 6079.980, S9+10/20. German
talk and audience applause, unseems synchro with 6030, 9635. 15770
WRMI via Maryland SDR is *not* //, rather novelty song in English.
IIRC, previous years the WRMI relays were also upmessed. By 1820,
15770 has joined, in German. Mostly German talk the next sesquihour.
Direct check at 1826: 15770 VP, 11650 JBA.

Inadvertent German lesson: correct name apparently as above. If it
were Greetings, plural, it would be Grüße = Gruesse (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. UT Sun Dec 24 circa 0040-0215 UT, our annual pilgrimage
to Xmas FM sound-and-light shows in Enid, the same two locations as
several previous years: NE corner of Oak & Oakwood, ex-oil well vacant
lot with the Singing Xmas Trees on 89.5 MHz, *very* part 15, could not
even hear it until less than a block away. Includes Chipmunx song -
Alvin!!

The other one is in the Pheasant Run Golf Course neighborhood, on the
western edge of Enid off Garland, on 94.9 MHz with much greater range
of a few blox; a residence with Pistol Pete OSU mascot, tree lights,
etc., flashing along with music variety, especially Mannheim
Steamroller. Certainly no one else is going to `DX` these, but I find
them an interesting media twist, and wish others would describe such
FMy shows near them (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** U K [non]. 21630, Dec 24 at 1559, BBC with Bow Bells, 1600 JIP
`Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols` - how rude: Ascension should have
started an hour earlier for this annual live broadcast. Presumably
also on 25900 from UK, too weak to tell. Both ordinarily open at 1600.
But I`ve already been hearing it L&C in $ tereo via WUOT Knoxville
stream from 1500. About the only church service I`m willing to
tolerate, because of the beautiful music, a redeeming quality. Some
stations repeat FONLAC, such as KWTU Tulsa, UT Dec 25 at 0400; or even
Xmas morning (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 400 kHz MCW, Dec 24 at 0806, AHQ, a 25-watt NDB at Wahoo,
Nebraska, which is just west of Omaha. Heard before but it`s been a
long time, Nov 6, 2021. Manages to overcome the S9+20 local noise
level. Several other intriguing carriers but none readable except:

329 kHz MCW, Dec 24 at 0801, PMV, 25-w NDB at Plattsmouth NE.

293 kHz, FBY, 25 watts at Fairbury NE, no sign of it lately in
numerous tunebys, wonder if still on air? Used to be most reliable
Nebraskan. Classaxe says it`s 50 watts, last logged Dec 5, 2023 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2222 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday December 24 at 0100 on WRMI 9955, presumably, as heard by
recording of webstream while out on Xmas FM monitoring.

Also confirmed, UT Sunday December 24 starting at 0535 on WA0RCR, 1860
AM, MO, S9+18 into nearby remote, very late after nominal 0415.

Missed zzz checking the Sun Dec 24 at 1130 on WRMI 9955; anyone hear
it? Next:

2100 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW
0400vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW [? not last week]
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW
1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?]
0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1200 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB or 3210-USB
[Unique Radio on Operational Break, this week only but still
streaming]
1230 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB or 3210-USB [previous #2221]
1500 UT Wednesday WRMI 9955 [unsked but confirmed last 3 weeks]
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW or 5130v?
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0230 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

Thanks this week for a generous quarterly check on the Winter
Solstice, from Gerald T. Pollard, Raleigh NC, on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702

As noncommercial services, financial support appreciated, or via
PayPal,
not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re: ``3265.149, Dec 23 at 0201, WBCQ as `AAAWWW` is running
way overtime. Just now checked as he mentioned ``3265`` was now
testing on air, nowhere near full 50 kW power, maybe exciter only. But
I find it quite strong into NH SDR, S6/S8 and as good or better than
7490! Hal Turner finally JIP at 0203``

Uncle Bill responds: ``I checked with the station on this myself
because I found the signal strength for 3265 disturbing - turns out it
was running on a 1 kW backup`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
