Logs
** CUBA. 15230, Dec 4 at 2315, S9/+10 of dead air, obviously RHC, and
its *only* signal I can find now anywhere else on the 6, 9, 11, 13 or
15 MHz bands with special attn to known channels whether supposedly
sked at this hour or not -- except: 13650 the absolutely pointless CRI
``Portuguese`` relay with nothing but fill music for years.
Something`s very2 wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9440-, Dec 4 at 2156, S9+10/20 of deadair except for some
hum direct, obviously R. Cairo about 5 Hz low halfway thru `English`
sesquihour. Something`s amiss at Abis. Other days recently no signal
at all, so this is progress (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Mon Dec 4 at 2300, no signal in English from SNR, as
forewarned due to electrical work at the Noblejas power station. May
or many not be back on in time for next token English, Wed Dec 6. Was
there a non-SW Englishow anyway? So far no podcast since Dec 2, easily
reached via WOR Hitlist, at
https://www.rtve.es/play/audios/emision-en-ingles/
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.005, Dec 3 at 2324, VOT English not off the
air, S9+30/35 into UTwente; 2343 ``always-by-your-side`` promo and
`Did You Know That`` on an Istanbul museum, voiced by the ``badax`` =
woman with a heavy accent; 2353 ``with-you-every-hour`` promo; and
s/off with sked times of UT+3 labeled as UTC; 2354 IS; 2356 restart IS
with German IDs; to 2357* uncovering the CCCCCCI. Something`s always
awry at Ankara.

5960.005, Dec 4 at 2300, VOT detectable direct vs noise level, not off
the air. Via UTwente S9+20/30: 2334 `Feeling Supreme/The Healing
Spring` on the benefits of satiating foods; well, yes. 2340
``always-by-your-side`` promo, music. 2344 `La Bamba` theme and `New
Day, New Choices`, missed topic. 2348 ``with-you-every-hour`` promo,
`Did You Know That` on an Adana dish. 2353 s/off with sked of B23
frequencies but all times wrong UT+3 called ``UTC``. Something`s
always awry at Ankara. 2355 IS twice before plugpull uncovering the
CCCCCCI from East Turkistan, std denunciation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 28230.8 CW, Dec 4 at 2158 EEEEEEEE NG7I/B etc., 10m ham
beacon among many others; WI5V list:
``28.2308 NG7I C RITZVILLE, WASHINGTON 2 WATTS, VERTICAL new start
date 6 Dec 2021`` -- and QRZ.com:

``NG7I USA flag PATRICK C PADGETT, 704 S Washington St., Ritzville, WA
99169
NG7I/B beacon is at 28.230.8 Mc running an IC-706 w/Picokeyer at 5w to
a Hy-Gain Penetrator 500 at 20'. Send me a QSL and I'll send you one
back. No need for an SASE or anything like that. Here's the QSL card
for the beacon:`` {cheesecake sitting on edge of roof straddling
antenna pole} (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. ``Hi Glenn! Re your reception of K6SSB on 28265 on Dec 2,
you may also find it useful to check the
https://rxx.classaxe.com/en/rna/signals database, which lists nearly
700 10m ham beacons that are or were transmitting from North America,
in addition to the WI5V roster and the QRZ.com website. Although there
are many more NDB receptions being added to this database daily,
there’s a small group of us who have contributed our 10m receptions to
this database recently. K6SSB was logged four times in October 2023.
Steve Howe, Saint Albans, Vermont`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2219 monitoring: Confirmed Sunday
December 3 at 2100 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz, S9 across
Europe to UTwente with no CCI.

Also confirmed UT Monday December 4 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9/+10 into
Durango2 SDR, as best one in Maurice LA has been offline - but here at
least, no noise blast audible during first 14 seconds!

Also confirmed UT Monday December 4 at 0400 on Area 51 via WBCQ
6159.35, S9+10 direct, sufficient except during intermittent line
noise bursts to S9+30! Next:

0130 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW
1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?]
0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1200 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB [ex-1000]
1230 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB [previous #2218][ex-1030]
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW or 5130v?
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0230 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

Thanks to Doug Brown, London ON, for a generous cheque on a US bank
to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702; and says ``Thanks for all
you do for this great hobby of ours``

Or one may contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9265V, Dec 4 at 2312, WINB S9+20/30 of music, but with BFO,
carrier is very rapidly wobbling, a longtime defect of this but much
worse now than lately. Maybe not noticeable in AM tuning (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1540, Dec 4 at 0803 UT, (479) area code ad for something in
Scranton, -- what?? ``True Country``, weather info, then ``Real
Country``. Not Pennsylvania, but Arkansas. As in NRC AM Log, it`s
KLYR, Ozark AR, as ``True Country``. Ozark is east of Ft Smith on I40,
Scranton further and off I40 to the south. 479 is NW Arkansas. Not bad
for one watt! Could it possibly be on 500 watt day power? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1690, Dec 4 at 0805? UT, Virginia references, ``the
Commonwealth``, into `Red Eye Radio`, i.e. WPTX Lexington Park,
Maryland, address in Mechanicsville, both of which are in SW MD, quite
close to VA partially in coverage area; 10/1 kW, but NRC AM Log does
not show it with RER, rather AC/EZL format. Per that the only RER on
1690 is WMLB in GA. IL or CO are the regular 1690s heard here. Nicely
displaying RER affiliate list at
https://www.redeyeradioshow.com/red-eye-radio-affiliates/
agrees that its only 1690 is ``WMLB-AM`` Atlanta -- and every single
MW station is shown with an ``-AM`` suffix, which is nonsense! There
was no sign of two stations mixing, and I can`t imagine a Georgian
with Virginia references as ``the Commonwealth``. Website
https://1690wptx.com/ asserts ``more music, less talk`` and is quite
Marylandish. The VA refs I thought were local, just before rejoining
RER. Schedule at https://1690wptx.com/schedule is not very helpful,
nothing but ``regular programming`` 24/7!! Now I`m wondering if
without embargo it had to be WMLB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1690, Dec 4 at 2320 UT, several Relevant Radio, Catholic
promos during break in a talkshow, of course KDMT Arvada CO, dominant
now but some deep fades. Official Dec sunset is 2330 UT, so still on
10 kW daypower (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
