Hauser
** EGYPT. 9440- nor 9442+, Nov 27 at 2153, no signals into UTwente
from R. Cairo during the 2115 English sesquihour. Something`s amiss at
Abis, egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** HONDURAS. 28377 USB, Nov 27 at 1611, HQ9X working pileups on same
frequency. Again by chance at 2323 working Napa, California. QRZ.com:

HQ9X Honduras flag Honduras
W1UE K1XM KQ1F CQ WW DX CW Contest 2017
Roatan Island, Honduras

``W1UE, K1XM, KQ1F will be active from Roatan Island, IOTA NA - 057,
Honduras, in CQ WW DX CW Contest 25 - 26 November 2017 as HQ9X``

But this is 27 Nov. Also linx to this illustrated info about the
island, not the DXpedition:
https://dxnews.com/hq9x/
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 267 MCW kHz, Nov 27 at 0254 UT, HET is JBA for a change,
25 watt NDB from HenryETta, seldom heard. Axually listening on 265
USB; 201 km = 125 stmi from Enid. Still suffering from hi line noise
level, worst on LW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Mon Nov 27 at 2300, token English from SNR, news, 2309
contact info, 2310 interview with a prof from Denmark about importance
of oceans, including seabeds with cables, pipelines. Finally stopped
giving total B23 transmission sked at outset with no language details,
but not yet? with advisory they have been emailing that will be
totally off the air, as forwarded by Nino Marabello, Treviso, Italy,
to the WOR iog:

``We inform you that on December 4 and 5, Radio Exterior de España
will be forced to suspend its shortwave broadcasts. The reason: a cut
in the electricity supply, beyond our control, which will affect the
shortwave broadcasting center that Radio Exterior has in the town of
Noblejas. The stoppage is due to some work that the Unión Fenosa
company has to carry out in the electrical substation of that Toledo
municipality and that will affect our facilities. Consequently, the
shortwave broadcast will be suspended next Monday, December 4 and will
continue until Wednesday, December 6, at most, when the signal will
resume. We apologize for this incident, completely beyond the control
of Radio Exterior de España.
THANKS EVERYBODY, GREETINGS. Director of Foreign Radio of Spain``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SWITZERLAND [non]. 17790, Nov 26 at 2100-2200, another C.M. Obrecht
music special, as publicized, wider variety of music than he is known
for, electronic compositions. With many announcements in German and
heavily accented English. Sufficient signal into Brasília SDR, except
it times out every 15 minutes, and fake stereo mode SAS enhances. This
is via WRMI-7 which is otherwise only for the Radio Africa Network at
15-21, just extended an hour; still on 160-degree beam toward S
America, hoping some of it will reach Africa anyway, lacking a
long-destroyed proper antenna thataway. At 2200 nevertheless starts to
play a R. Africa s/off before chopped (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960.005, Nov 26 at 2317, VOT English not off the air,
S9+35 into UTwente; too much else ongoing to pay rapt attention, but a
few notes: 2317 ``always-by-your-side`` promo; 2325 `Weekly Analysis`
outro; 2329 multi-lingual ID filler reel. Back to the non-squealing +5
Hz transmitter, rather than the +17 Hz squealer yesterday.

[and non]. 5960.005, Nov 27 at 2325, not off the air, S9+10/20 direct,
multi-lingual ID filler reel; 2333 over to UTwente at S9+20/30, 2335
outro `New Day, New Choices`, ``always-by-your-side`` promo; 2339 `Did
You Know That` there is a masterpiece of a mosque near Istanbul with a
great view; 2344 ``with-you-every-hour`` promo, music; 2350
multi-lingual ID filler reel crutch, again; 2352, s/off with partial
English schedule omitting this one, but at least correct times and
frequencies as far as they went! 2353 IS; 2356* off uncovering the
CCCCCCI from East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide
against Uighurs and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKQOGBANI [non]. SEALAND on 60 Minutes including pirate radio
angle:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 353 MCW kHz, Nov 27 at 0256, LI, 400 watt NDB from LIttle
Rock AR, seldom heard but now anything outside OK is notable vs local
noise level (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2218 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
November 26 at 2100 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz, S9+5 into
UTwente with no QRM.

Also confirmed UT Monday November 27 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9/+10 but
noisy into Durango2 SDR.

Also confirmed UT Monday November 27 at 0403 the 0400 on Area 51 via
WBCQ 6160-, S6/S9 direct, better via Maryland remote tho rating only
S5/S7 on its meter. Next:

0130 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW
1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?]
0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB
1030 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB [previous #2217]
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW or 5130v?
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

Or via PayPal not necessarily in US funds to

** U S A. 7490V, Nov 27 at 0004, `Le Show` on WBCQ, only S7/S8 into
Maryland SDR, unstable varying widely between +531 and +678 Hz; need
to get webcast instead; but unusually seems // 5130.363 and not
varying much, instead of ATATT. 6160- not measured but something else;
and 3265+ as usual silent. Harry Shearer tripping over his tongue more
than usual as I am concerned about his health; must require multiple
takes for his The Simpsons characters. Nov 27 at 2320, 7490 again
AWOL; JBA 5130.3 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 3090, Nov 27 circa 0700 and earlier, not a trace of the KBUF
KS third harmonic I heard 24 hours before. Apparently totally
repaired, but worth further chex just in case along with 2060, 4120,
5150 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** WALES. 24964 USB, Nov 27 at 1617, MW0YVK working Statesiders.

Abergavenny In South East Wales 76.206 METERS ASL

I was raised in this town and have been operating radio since 1979.
Passing my B licence in 1994 with the call GW7WFO then finally passing
my full amateur call in 2002 with the above callsign. I am now retired
and my job was working as a signalman on the railways. WAB SO31``

And displaying certificates, some of which do not load (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search of entire band, Nov
27 at 0258, finds only 621, likely 100/75 kW RNE Canary Is; and maybe
on 819 where I normally hear nothing; most likely by far is 300 kW
from Batrah, Egypt, 24h per mwlist (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7780-7830 approx., Nov 27 at 0750, strong multitonal
over this 50 kHz range, barely evading WRMI, peak should be about 7805
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
