** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Saturday Nov 18 at 1834, LRA36 is on, S7/S9 into Argentine SDR, all talk about Esperanza, Antarctica; still 2030, 2124+. And 2325 still into a different ArgSDR, S6/S7 in music. 2358 still on via the first one as the second one had closed due to storms. 0012 ID and historical info. 0016 intro a musical segment, something about 1983 in New York? 0019 finally stops talking and plays it. Still going at 0059 UT Sunday Nov 19. May also have been on some weekdays but unsought this week (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** FRANCE. 21640+, Nov 17 at 1535, no signal direct from La Boulangère MiniTransAt, but the other two 13m ISSouduns are on, 21485 & 21690. Same Nov 18 at 1532. Is the sailboat race over, or was there something starting at 1500 before I have been tuning? Check the website: https://minitransat.fr/ The winner, Federico WAKSMAN from Uruguay, arrived at Guadeloupe already on 10 November, and the 28th in last place on 17 November; three more dropped out. So it`s over (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE. 21485, Nov 17 at 1532, after finding no signal on 21640+ for MiniTransAt, this and 21690, the other two ISSouduns scheduled this hour on 13m can be heard, confirming propagation is OK. But 21485 sounds ``stuttering``, some transmission problem, double feed? At 1430-1600 it`s R. Tamazuj, targeting Sudan South (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** RUSSIA. Re my 7032 USB report of the Soviet Hymn, David Crawford replies: ``gh, When I've heard this one on random occasion, it's always been the Гимн России version by the group Любэ / "Lu-beh": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbJQbiu09z8 Here's another rather notorious song of theirs, "Don't be a Fool, America!", in which they make it clear that they want Alaska back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wuq1EE8ymc I don't find that one as amusing as I used to.`` Of course once you go to YT, a bunch of other versions are suggested. Most of the NAs get rave reviews as music, even from non-Communists. Here`s an English version of the Soviet Hymn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7pbnTI1_LM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 5960.005, Nov 18 at 2326, VOT not off the air in English, VG S9+25/35 into UTwente ending multi-lingual ID filler reel; atop CCCCCCI understation; music. 2331, `Gripping Piles`, on the environmental disaster of wastewater leaking into the sea from Gaza. I had not heard about that elsewhere. Then goes on to review the conflict, emphasizing casualties caused by Israeli retaliation. 2334, ``always-by-your-side`` promo, music. 2339 `Turkey`s Geomarked [sic] Products` on a small town in central Anatolia known for its handmade carpets. 2342 ``with-you-every-hour`` promo, music. 2351 s/off again by the badax with all-wrong A23 schedule, 2352 IS and off 2353* uncovering Xinjiang (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2217 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday November 18 at 0130 on WRMI 5850, VG S9+30/15 into Missouri SDR. Also confirmed Saturday November 18 at 1630 on WRMI 15770, immediately after music stops, no ID break, S9/S7 into UTwente where it`s aimed, sufficient but fading down before 1700. Way offbeam to a VE6JY remote in Alberta, S9/S6 and holding up to conclusion. Also confirmed Saturday November 18 at 1700, first airing on WRN webcasts. Also confirmed Saturday November 18 at 2029, on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, VG S9+18 into nearby SDR. Also confirmed Saturday November 18 at 2030, on WRMI webcast-only, and WRN North America webcast. Something`s really wrong at WBCQ: UT Nov 18, at 0050 preparing to check `AAAWWW`, 7490.061 is JBA S4/S5 into Maryland SDR, instead of usual quite sufficient signal, during FKB gospel huxter. 6160 -68 Hz = 6159.932 is VG S9+12 with something else as usual. Sounds like a g.h. rather than `Cruisin Radio` as in the program guide. 5130.302 is S9+12, T**** and a het. Nothing on 3265+. So to hear AAAWWW I have to bring up the `7490` stream, but it stops at 0100* and remains Unfound the rest of the evening whenever I check! So I have to strain to hear them via remotes. At 0100, 7490 no William Tell Overture theme audible; 5130+ still with T****; 6160- dead air. By 0104 on 7490 I hear some other music, for `Chariots of Fire`. At 0108 can recognize Allan`s voice but unreadable. NH SDR is no better, S6 but JBA. I give up, but ask Larry Will what`s going on? His reply at 0146 after finishing Free Radio Weekly: ``Hello Glenn, I noticed the multiple anomalies on WBCQ tonight; I have no idea what is going on but am checking it out now. Al's Florida relay webcast started at 0100 with the AWWWWW theme song, but suddenly went dead air less than a minute in, then played a bit of what sounded like a newscast, then dropped off. 7490 no signal, 6160 open carrier/dead air, 5130 trump blather. 7490 webcast was down at 0100, back at 0110 with a repeat from May. Lw`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5085 & 9475, WTWW update from George McClintock at 2015 UT November 18: 5085 dropped off the air last night but soon restored, #2 transmitter, still scheduled 22-04 UT. Can`t get 9475 to stay on despite a couple of brief tests. May have Continental guy back late Nov/early Dec for 4 days to work on that, Al from the Philippines, now retired in Dallas, first language not English. Depends on when some more parts arrive. One shipment came two days ago. Mechanical, not electronic parts are needed. George has been cleaning up #2 and labeling #1. #1 is beyond filthy, looks like cat crapped in it, unID white stuff. Biermann is handling all the programming and has some client prospects for 9475 once it`s operational. Still uncertain whether going to be sold. Neighboring property reclassified as commercial or agricultural, and to be combined with WTWW property if sold. George hopes WTWW will survive as a SW station (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0120 UT November 19 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
