Hauser
** ANTARCTICA [and non]. 15475.98 RC USB, Sat Oct 7, listening to
Argentine remote from 1755, nothing yet from LRA36; let it play as
noise under Handel`s oratorio Jephtha on WFMT/KUCO. Just at
intermission, 1815, I realize it`s on, maybe a bit earlier. Later
switch to Brasil SDR where at 1835 it`s S7/S8 during song. 1950 a
piece from someone in Sucre, Bolivia about that city, founded in
1538y. 2100 & 2216 still going with songs. Off during song without
despedida circa 2310*, nothing but splash from 15480 China at 2312.

Earlier, a report on the WOR iog from: ``Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain
--- Current schedule, according to a WhatsApp received from the
station:
Saturdays: 1800-2300, program “Uniendo Voces” and “Jóvenes de la
Antártida”. All other days of the week: 1500-1700, program “Ecos de la
Antártida”. Today, Saturday, October 7, they have bad weather at Base
Esperanza. They hope to be able to go on air and that the weather does
not affect the transmission`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT [non]. 9440.001, Oct 7 at 2218, news in English with
correspondent reports, too good to be Cairo, and not on 9439.995 into
UTwente. Of course, it`s BBCWS relay this hour only via USAGM Tinang,
Philippines 250 kW at 200 degrees toward Indonesia. I won`t accuse
this of being a violation of Separation Of Church And State, altho
UKQOGBANI is theoretically a theocracy --- just ask King Charles III.
Is he a.k.a. CIIIR, like his mom, EIIR? Cairo had been reported
recently by Alan Holder, Isle of Wight, to have improved modulation,
but not on air now, tho who knows, could have initiated English at
2115. Somethings amiss at Abis (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE [and non]. 13735, October 7 at 1502, JBA signal direct. EiBi
has nothing but MiniTransAt, as this is one of four available
frequencies during the bakery race. At 1516 I tune at UTwente, where
it`s no longer on 6100, just a weak presumed CRI, but S7/S8 on 13735,
playing medley of classic rock hits, only the signature title tunes,
like `Hey Jude`. The weather and race standings info must have been
quite brief today. 1526, YL with quick words, I think ``Have a nice
day``, a bit of James Bond theme music, 1527 dead air to 1530*. Map at
https://minitransat.fr/ shows most have arrived at La Palma, Canary
Islands, completing first leg. Then onward to Guadeloupe. I wonder if
leaders keep leading or they all re-depart La Palma at once. Later on
may ascend further to 15300, not there yet (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ISRAEL [and non]. [WOR] ``i24 news from Israel --- Altho there is
plenty of coverage of the Israel/Gaza war on US news channels, may I
point out a channel direct from Israel, i24. I have found it to be
fairly objective in the past, non-governmental AFAIK. It may be on a
basic cable tier like here; or maybe satellite, or streaming`` --- I
posted at 1916 UT Oct 7. There ensued discussions of how to hear KAN
-- successor to Kol Israel, online (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALDIVES [non]. Re: ``11620, Oct 6 at *1459.7 carrier on, 1500
seems to JIP intro in English, never IDing as Voice of Martyrs,
Korea...``

Hi Glenn - The usual intro per my recording {May 3} -
https://app.box.com/s/ycqvhrojx0n8c3lm6itxk60a02583ouf

"Maldives shortwave radio. This is Pastor Eric Foley from Voice of the
Martyrs Korea. There are followers of Jesus all around the world, even
inside the Maldives. . ."

FYI: "The Reverend Eric Foley is CEO and Co-Founder, with his wife Dr.
Hyun Sook Foley, of Voice of the Martyrs Korea, supporting the work of
persecuted Christians in North Korea and around the world and
spreading their discipleship practices worldwide. . ."
https://dotheword.org/about/
Ron California`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, Enid translator K17JN, 3ABN and multiple
subchannels after several weeks nominal operation is black and silent,
Oct 7 at 0510 UT and still at 1513 check. Zenith STB box displays ``NO
SIGNAL`` yet meter shows usual strong signal! So it IS on the air, but
failing to modulate any video or audio. This useless thing is Enid`s
only local TV transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TIBET [non]. 13720, Sat Oct 7 at 1359, humroar and off leaving algo
JBA. Not your usual kind of CNR1 jamming against RFA Tibetan via
Tajikistan at 1300-1400. After 1400 per EiBi that would be KTWR in DD
language to S Asia: we have to uplook at his README page:
``DD Dhodiya / Dhodia: India-Gujarat (150,000) [dho]``
``On the right in [brackets] the ISO 639-3 (SIL) language code for
reference. For more information on language [abc] visit
https://iso639-3.sil.org/code/abc `` - SIL was originally Summer
Institute of Linguistix, erstwhile gospel huxter entity, dedicated to
depriving countless ethnicities of their original religions:
https://www.sil.org/about/history
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009, Sat Oct 7 at 2201, sufficient direct, VOT not
off the air today, and good modulation for a change, 2217 only S9/+15
into UTwente, weaker than usual with multilingual ID filler reel. 2220
`Gripping Piles` on increasing water use in the global textile
industry. 2228 `Captain`s Log` travelog. 2234 always-by-your side
promo, music.. 2239 with-you-every-hour promo, DA, music. 2251 canned
s/off, chopped off before finished at 2252.8, not a note of IS.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 26110 NBFM, Sat Oct 7 at 1450 UT, no doubt KMK282, studio
feed from KOVR ``13``, remote news report about some neighborhood.
This time most readable in FM mode at fadeups to S5. California 10m
beacons also simul (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 28265, Oct 7 at 1455, DE K6SSB/B, the new beacon at
Brentwood CA, as first heard 24h ago. These are by sporadic E, which
never - hardly ever - reaches the FMBC band this time of year, but
plenty of lower MUFs.

28300, Oct 7 at 1456, K6FRC/B, beacon at Tracy CA, again too (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2211 monitoring: confirmed UT
Saturday October 7 at 0130 on WRMI 5850, S9/+12 into Missouri SDR.

Also confirmed Saturday October 7 at 1600 on WRN North America
webcast.

Also confirmed Saturday October 7 at 1639 the NEW 1630 on WRMI 15770,
but JBA direct, and also JBA S6/S7 into UTwente, Europe target area!
Does make it well as far as Maine SDR, S9+10/20.

Also confirmed after 1930 Saturday October 7 on WRN webcast, and
almost synchronized on WRMI webcast-only; is that out of WRN too?

Also confirmed at 1941 about 3 minutes into so started circa 1938
after ARRL News on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, S9 into nearby MO SDR. Next:

0000 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 to SSE [? was planned from late in Sept]
0245vUT Sunday WA0RCR 1860-AM [nominal 0315; as late as 0457]
0300 UT Sunday WRMI 7780 to SW [NEW; to be confirmed)
1030 UT Sunday WRMI 9955 [jammed by Cuba?]

0300vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW
0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW

2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

Thanks this week for generous financial support from Richard Langley,
Fredericton NB, in US funds but not necessarily, via PayPal to
woradio at yahoo.com

Or via MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (7490v), UT Sat Oct 7 at 0000, `AAAWWW` on WBCQ, quickly
recognized as rerun of last week, so dispensed with. BTW, just before
this, the live? FKB gospel huxter show broadcasts a ``one minute!``
warning to him to wrap it up, from WBCQ op. But why does that go on
the air? I guess he is listening to himself off the air/web (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5800, Oct 7 at 0641, S9+20/25 of dead air, enough to
overcome the high local line noise level - HLLNL. So WRMI yet again
has failed to turn off #10 transmitter at scheduled 0400* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Oct 7 at 0714, S9+45 of dead air from WRNO, yet again.
Maybe will be in Mandarin if & when they get around to it (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 26450 USB, Oct 7 at 1453, full bandscan turns up one
side of 2-way conversation, frequent pauses for replies; at first
seems Greekish, or more like Slavic. Deep fades and peaks. Doubt it`s
from Europe, as no 25800 Denmark which might have been propagating. 10
& 11 m bands are open from California via sporadic E (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 2340 UT October 7
