Hauser
** CANADA. 6754 USB, Sept 17 at 0109 nothing from CHR; must have been
pause until starts at 0110 but JBA vs S9+25 line noise, still nothing
but ``no report received``s during brief monitoring of Trenton
Military. EiBi implies starts at :10 past the hours, but unclear the
extent of pauses/breaks (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11850, Sept 17 at 0122, RHC at S9/+15 [direct u.o.s.], but
main a hum with trace of modulation, and JBA parasitic spur carriers
on 11840 & 11860. That`s more like it: somethings` always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9600, Sept 17 at 0127, RHC Spanish and S9/+20 // 11760. Seems
9600 not be a mistake, keeps happening, avoiding Romania 9700 clash at
0200-0300. EiBi & Aoki still haven`t caught up with 9600 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN [and non]. 17640, Sept 17 at 0115, CRI English chat
about education, AI, surprisingly good signal this hour via Kashgar,
land of ChiCom imperialist genocide against Uighurs and other Moslems,
toward Europe so rather USward too, in fact the SSOB, S4/S7 with some
flutter. It sounds better in plain USB than in ECSS. I then survey
other signals, mostly JBA or JBA carriers on band+ without further
research, likely mostly China from NE or NW: 17490, 17530, 17565,
17580, 17605 + noisejam?, 17740, 18900, 18970. At this hour I would
have expected better signaling from east China over NW path than west
``China`` over NE path.

9580 at 0126, CRI English also, CUBA relay undermodulated and a few
seconds behind // 17640 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KOREA SOUTH [non]. See USA: 11880

** MEXICO. 18084.5 CW, Sept 17 at 0112, sounds automated in several
repeats: CQ CQ CQ CQ DE XE2AD - something else followed probably
gridsquare. QRZ.com:
``XE2AD Mexico flag Mexico, DAVID MORO-FRIAS, AP 006, Aguascalientes,
Ags 20000, Mexico --- Website: http://www.xe2ad.com Hi! I am David,
born in 1980 and ham radio operator since 2006. I´m an Electronic
engineer with a MSc and PhD in microelectronic design. Actually I work
in the semiconductor industry as analog integrated circuit designer
and as an university lecturer`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ``

** NORTH AMERICA. 6952 USB, Sept 17 at 0105, weak talk from pirate way
below what sure seems like jamming, much stronger random tone beepery
like someone wiggling a VFO a few kHz above and below, S9+30 also vs
line noise at S9+12. By 0133 recheck, none of this. Many reports here
of Zeke taking requests and being jammed:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,118250.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. KAUT ``43`` is no longer ``Freedom 43``, but ``CW 43``,
that network branding taken from KOCB, ``CW 34`` on RF 33. KOCB is now
merely ``independent``. KAUT is mainly on RF 19 but the only
transmitter around here so far in unvisable ATSC 3.0. As KAUT is also
owned by NexStar, i.e. KFOR ``4`` RF 27 with NBC, we can really see
KAUT via RF 27.5, in ATSC 1.0 as virtual ``43-1``. Altho when I first
noticed this at 2359 UT Sept 16, it was via Optimum Cable 2 in Enid. I
soon found that rabbitears.info already made the change, so don`t know
exactly when it happened, as there is little reason to watch KAUT or
KOCB. Except: NBC or other KFOR programming such as `Discover
Oklahoma`, the state-sponsored travelog, is shunted to KAUT when
stupid ballgames or maybe BREAKING NEWS or WEATHER, takes over KFOR,
as happened today. Last week KAUT also had a stupid ballgame so
Discover OK was out of luck! (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. LW/MW beacon reception has been pitiful. Still
plenty of summer storm noise and also my OG&E line noise. The only
reliable regulars are 515 kHz, PN, Ponca City; and always JBA despite
proximity, 341 kHz, EI, Enid. Former regulars 350 kHz, RG, WRWA OKC,
and 255 kHz, SW, Stillwater remain absent, maybe forever. I have been
hesitant to conclude the 332 kHz, IC, Wichita KS, is off, but
unconfirmed for weeks. At 0102 Sept 17 I get a trace, maybe of a 332
carrier. I`ll be delighted to hear any further beacons, let alone
several Canadians regular in the winter, if they still exist. There
was one on 332 mixing with and atop wIChita (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 11880, Sept 17 at 0123, KBS World Radio in Spanish mailbag
calling someone in México but suppressed/distorted modulation, so
something`s wrong at Grimesland since this is the relay hour via VOA.
KBS cares enough about Spanish to maintain this relay service, not so
for English to North America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2208 monitoring: not yet UT Sunday
Sept 17 at 0000 on WRMI 9955 as supposedly planned for ``later in
September``, rather another Viva Miami repeat, and at 0015 some gospel
huxter. That leaves one more week, Sept 24.

Confirmed UT Sunday September 17 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S5/S3 with
storm crashes, offbeam into Maryland SDR.

Also confirmed not starting until 0358 UT Sunday September 17 the
0315v on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, VG into nearby SDR, after ARRL News
which started at 0345.

``World of Radio is the premiere news and information radio service
produced by respected shortwave journalist Glenn Hauser.``
http://wbcq.com/schedule/index.php?fn=p&id=18
Tnx, but don`t you believe the imaginary first time shown,
``5130 Su 0400-0430 UTC Su 12:00AM 12:30AM EST`` [sic]
which was never correct.

Not awake to check the Sun 1030 on WRMI 9955; anyone hear it? Next:

2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323 & 918? & 207?-Italy
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW
0300vUT Monday WBCQ Area 51 6160v to WSW
0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [planned later in Sept, or now?]
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB
1030 UT Wednesday Unique R, NSW 5035-USB [previous #2207]
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1400 UT Thursday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba? to be confirmed]

No new contributions this week which might have been sent via PayPal,
not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com

Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330, Sept 17 at 0125, no signal from WLCR/WBCQ-6, but
Classic WBCQs maintain on 7490 & 6160 at 0130 check. Wonder if that
huge rotatable antenna could not tolerate sub-hurricane force winds
from Lee. NWS info for Caribou/Monticello predicted winds gusting to
46 mph and declining, probably more than that earlier. `BCQ is of
course pretty far inland, while the ME/NS/NB coasts were getting
pummeled. Back on by 1730 Sept 17, JBA direct but S9+18 into Maryland
SDR.

7489.9 at 0130 Sept 17 had some crackles and dead air, not unusual
during Pirate Joe`s `Shortwave Saturday Night` live from WHVW 950, but
S9+20/30 here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7300V, Sept 17 at 0501, the gospel huxter pirate is
back, sermon about Daniel stuff. I last logged it Sept 2, no luck
since on occasional but not nightly chex. Tnx to tip from Lucas
Bandura at 0454:

``WOR] UNID religious 7300v AM --- Glenn’s UNID station on this
frequency is on tonight, I finally got it. S7 on TWR Raleigh, North
Carolina KiwiSDR. Just a carrier direct in British Columbia, no audio
heard. Preacher now, music at tune in around 0450 UTC.

Interesting, at 0513 UTC I saw the operator bump the VFO up [with
screenshot]. I have heard religious pirates on AM mode in the 80 meter
ham band, I’m sure this is another one of them. Likely using an
antique transmitter and VFO tuned right up to the top of its range for
40 meters.``

I`ve brought up the TWR NC SDR too and let it run for quite a while.
Very steady signal strength but noisy, maybe near local range.
Frequency constantly varying, and SDR calibration is accurate compared
to WWV 10000. At first it`s on 7300.125, shortly downward to +100.5,
97.5, 72, 69.

0522 no ID but cut to ``holy`` hymn, but not the well-known ``Holy3``.
Now it`s offset minus 30 Hz. 0527 back to preacher IDing self as
Robert Breaker ? sounds like, with website southchurch.org - I go
there and find that`s in New Britain CT, but searching on name with as
many alternate spellings as I can think of finds no one. Visual
reference, and podcast mentioned. 0541 happens to attain 7300.000 but
not for long! Still going 0608 at +155 Hz. 0639, +368 Hz. At 0648 I
finally tune in direct and he`s S9+10 but due to noise, JBA on
7300.389 varying upward to 7300.425 by 0652 when I quit.

Ron Howard reported from CA: ``Sept 17 - Hearing 7300 at 0730 UT with
extremely weak signal at Asilomar Beach. Ron`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7410-7415-7420, Sept 17 at 0135, DRM noise at S9+25.
Nothing listed in Aoki, EiBi, HFCC or drmrx.org -- whatsit? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 1928 UT September 17
