** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Sat July 8 from 1806 tune-in, S9 peaks audible via Brasília and one of the Arg SDRs: LRA36 with CW ID, 1807 spoken s/on, multilingual IDs, 1808 opening recitation ``Pasaporte``, 1810 ``Uniendo Voces`` live? program with guests. 1814 about this being relayed by an FM station in Catamarca, and which apparently produced a segment to be run later. As usual, absolutely no signal audible direct, not even a JBA RC. Despite good remote reception, not monitored further as we`re off on a DXpedition to investigate KEUC. Returned by 2106, no signal on any of those remotes, off already despite nominal Saturday sked of 18-23 UT. Manuel Méndez, Spain caught them direct, coming on air much earlier at *1714, presumably a musical prélude. The other broadcasts scheduled are now Mon & Fri at 1300-1500, a bit too early for our convenience (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 9700, July 8 at 0619, JBM vs transmitted S8/S9 noise, can`t tell language, no doubt RHC again where something`s always wrong, and blocking Romania (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** FRANCE. 13740, July 8 at 0623, S8/9+10 African language must be Hausa, talking about Ukraine as sked from RFI Issoudun until 0630, and 0625 RFI ID quickly in French; much stronger than usual, but similar sig on 13695 in French, the SSOBs; At 0637 still an unexplained JBA carrier on 13740 unless it be the RFI exciter, to resume at 0700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6869.1, July 8 at 0627, unID pirate for third late night in a row, but uncopiable vs high storm noise level = HSNL (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2198 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday July 8 at 0130 on WRMI 5850, sufficient direct into DX-398 and modulation seems OK. Confirmed Sat July 8 at 1600 on WRN N America webcast. You consistently provide your listeners with a broad cross-section of SW and BC band related information. In only 30 minutes I know the stations I should be tuning for over the following several days. Please accept this small contribution in support of your on-going efforts. 73, John, N9JL, Lutz, EN51vm, Shorewood IL`` -- with a check to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds to: woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 91.5, July 8 at 0121 & 0140 UT, my next rechex on caradio *still* find open carrier/dead air, i.e. from KSNS, Medicine Lodge, KS, see my previous report: I bet it`s been dead thruout the 5 hours since 2044! Instead of ignorance and inattention by station staff, it could also be that a person on duty at station collapsed or worse. IF they have any local listeners, might call 911 and/or get the police to make a welfare check. BTW, this OC/DA is in mono; I had not noticed whether it were in $ tereo when modulative. With the proliferation of Part 15 very low-power RF feeders in cars, sometimes left on with no input, one must be careful not to take one of these nearby for a genuine FM station. So I have made certain 91.5 OC/DA remains audible as I drive around Enid, and even on my jaunt out to Ringwood, July 8 between 1850 and 2100 UT to investigate KEUC; details in next report --- yes, KSNS *still2* silent some 24 hours after first noted (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2227 UT July 8
