Logs
** CUBA. 9700, July 5 at 0627, RHC English VG S9+20 on extra frequency
tonight, nowhere else; talking about baseball players, not currently
but historically in the 30s, 40s, etc., as DDC would remind us, all
the talented ones have fled Cuban Communism. Cannot detect any QRM,
but Romania may have just closed if not totally covered; and NZ stays
away this time. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 28, July 5 at 1735 UT, Enid on edge of some OK tropo
eastward so a bandscan: surprised on RF 28 remapping to be getting
``2-11``, KJRH `2 News at Noon`, decoding for a few minutes. Its prime
RF has long been on channel 8, not to be confused with original analog
competitor on 8, KTUL. RF 28 is really KTPX Okmulgee, primarily ION as
44-1, not unusual to be getting that. Now rabbitears.info does show
02-11 on 28.4 as KJRH-TV, the rest of the 28s being ION and the usual
assortment of shopping and rerun channels. Searching on callsign KJRH
still leads only to RF 8 Tulsa; we have to go directly to KTPX to
explore its other hidden channels topped by 02-11 KJRH. And why such a
high number -11? on Physical 28 there are .10 lower subchannels, but
no reason for KJRH on 28.4 to be called 2-11. Its own extensive
website has nothing labeled as basic tech info such as which
channel[s] it`s really on and from where! not even under About Us,
https://www.kjrh.com/antenna which is pushing antenna equipment in
general. Seems that more and more, a single ``station`` appear on more
than one ``channel`` in same market. CBS for Tulsa, KOTV ``6`` is on
three different UHF channels (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 11800, July 5 at 2255, RRI concluding VG English hour into
UTwente, cut short during contact info at 2255.6*; something`s gone
wrong at Galbeni, in too big a hurry to change beams for Spanish at
2300 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Wed July 5 at 2200, token English from SNR, skips any
news; is this a holiday? and right into feature, interviewing four
Spaniards who are expats in other countries, starting with Poland.
S9+5/15 into Maryland SDR, also detecting that the other three
frequencies are not off the air (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 11785.023, July 4, continued from previous report
that bonus German from VOT was still running post-English, at 2316:
completed at 2352, into IS, still not turned off; 2356 restart IS, now
with Portuguese IDs. Still listening via UTwente. ```Stão ouvindo
Rádio TRT, Voz de Türkiye`` in Luso accent, not Brasilian.

I have no idea how we are supposed to spell ``Türkiye`` in PP. Are we
allowed to render it closer fonetikaly, like ``Túrquilhe``?? In
Portuguese there is no confusion with that low-IQ bird, which they
call ``Peru``! That opens a whole nother can of worms if that country
were as touchy as Recep. Spanish has a whole bunch of other names for
the bird per Google translate: pav@ [that means either -a or -o
depending on gender], el guajolote, el chompipe, el pato mareado,
el patoso.

July 5 UT: 0000 timesignal only 6 sex late as received, s/on in PP,
and still on past 0030, still squealing and +23 Hz offset transmitter.
We get the *whole* extra hour of PP as well as GG. That sort of
compensates for RHC failure to Portuguize at 2200 on 15230, tho I
doubt there were any collusion.

0056 resumes IS, now with IDs in Spanish, but chopped off air finally
TWO hours late at 0058*, as if intentional, uncovering a much weaker
S7 signal, still sync-locking now on 11785.000 - likely listed CNR
Xian, or CNR-2 Xianyang, which was already on air but totally covered
by TRT.

Somethings` always erroneous at Emirler if not awry at Ankara. Latest
A23 WRTH Update #13 July 1 still shows NO Portuguese at all on SW from
VOT, but Spanish at 0100 on 7260 & 9870: unknown when I was
monitoring, to check whether either be active. German: only 1130 on
15350; 1730 on 9840. Perhaps somewhere on website be total 24h sked of
langs on program feed line, beyond the scope of WRTH (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 11785.019, July 5 after 2200, VOT English is not
off the air, S9+40/45 into UTwente, somewhat undermodulated and
distorted, does not compare well to neighbor RRI English on 11800.000
which is louder and clearer. 2212 `Review of the Tuerkiyeish Press`,
something about an AI radio demonstration in Geneva? 2214, `Whipping
Piles/Gripping Files`, could not understand the topic; 2218
multi-lingual ID filler reel; 2220 `Weekly Commentary` about Turkey,
Sweden, PKK and NATO; 2243, `Feeling Supreme/The Healing Spring` on
treating gas problems in babies; 2250 music. 2253 usual canned
sign-off; 2255 IS about once and off (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2197 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday
July 4 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+15 into Missouri SDR.

Also confirmed Wednesday July 5 at 2100 on WBCQ 7490-, noisy S6/S9
into Maryland SDR. Next:

0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW

Thanks this week to Ron Howard, Monterey, California for a check to
Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, ``In memory of Noel Green. I
remember all the times he helped me with Radio Pakistan info [he was
an official monitor in the UK]. Thanks for all your help over the
Decades!``

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds to:
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, July 5 at 0629, NO signal from RV, nor on 7890,
11835 which would be harmonix of 3945. Here we go again; where is it,
when will it resume somewhere? Manuel Méndez, Spain and Ron Howard,
California agree no signal this date but on July 4 it was on with
carrier only, no modulation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7834 USB, July 5 at 0630, very weak 2-way seems Spanish
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report despatched at 2351 UT July 5
