Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Wed June 21 at 1752, LRA36 talk
already on the air, 1754 sounds like live ``buenas tardes`` greeting
at 15 local time, between Sra. Menéndez and the usual male host. No
signal direct altho imagination-level bit of the reduced carrier; of
the four Argentine SDRs, the best one is offline; two get a trace at
best, but the other one is weak but readable; steadily fades down to
JBA by 1925 and not at all by 2015 but unknown if or when it turned
off. Anyhow, now seems regular roughly 18-21 UT on Wed & Sat. I missed
checking for those last week (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA [non]. 12005, June 21 at 2130, annual BBCWS midwinter
special for Antarcticans, greetings from families with bits of music
interspersed such as ``I`m a Believer`` twice near the start. I first
tried several remotes in Argentina, Uruguay, RSA, some getting some
signal but inadequate. So I settle on UTwente, where I thought
Woofferton might be skipping over, but sufficient at S9+20; and 13810
slightly weaker at S9+10 and minus 3 Hz offset. Third frequency, 7255
via UAE a very poor third everywhere if at all. I don`t get it why
they disused Ascension, which should have put the best signal
southward. Uncounted, but there were so many quick greetings that it`s
hard to believe the target audience no more than 32 to 40 down there.
Of course, each could receive greetings from several family, friends.
At 2145 a quick check for my direct reception: both 12005 & 13810
audible but very poor. 2159 closing with ``Jingle Bells``, off at
2200* sharp. Anyhow, BBC are repeating it later and streaming, and I
hope ondemand for convenience. Yes, Alan Pennington, bdxc-news, says,

``But also now available to listen to online at
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/w3ct5hqt
(though always sounds better coming through the ether!)`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, UT Tue June 20 at 0100, RAE VG in English
via WRMI; always gives day of produxion at outset, this time ``Monday,
June 12`` -- more than a week ago. WRMI sked now shows RAE English
0100-0130 Tue-Sat on 9395 - but is there only one new program per
week? Repeated over & over? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855 & 15520, Wed June 21 at 2200, good signals from token
English of SNR into UTwente, far off-target but I conveniently have it
running after BBC/Antarctica. News includes about the latest migrant
boat loss off Canarias. 2205 feature previewing some operas this fall
at Teatro Real. Singer explains how different languages lead to
different interpretations. 2220 about a paleontologist in 1868 whose
cave paintings he discovered in Altamira were dismissed as fraudulent
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, June 21 at 2200, no signal from VOT English for us
into UTwente, nor at 2207 recheck. Something`s always erroneous at
Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2195 monitoring: ``From: Richard
Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening
Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees.
Dear Glenn: Confirming World of Radio #2195, WRMI: 5850, very weak,
jamming, 0159, June 17 UTC 2023 [Sat]
15770, Signal S5, confirmed, 2258, 2259, June 17 UTC 2023 [Sat]
9395, static, QRN, S7, S8 signal, 0159, June 18 UTC 2023 [Sun 0130-
NEW]
9395, 2330, June 20 UTC 2023 [Tue] (Lemke, Richard -AB) 73’s, Richard,
June 21, 2023``

Confirmed Tue June 20 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+15 into Missouri SDR,
S9/+20 direct.

Also confirmed Wednesday June 21 at 2100 on WRMI 7490 -67 Hz =
7489.933 into Virginia SDR, noisy S5/S8. Next:

0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW to be confirmed]

** U S A. 15150, June 21 at 0405, WMLK again, S9+20/25 into UTwente
and I could believe it`s really 300 kW; but I miss sign-on if any, nor
any real IDs; amateurish singing in progress, hymn? By 0412 presumed
DEJOM with Yahweh stuff, perpetual obsession with ``correct`` name for
their deity. At 0433 I check the website, still with no new info,
altho the ``live radio`` plays -- but NOT // 15150, in fact an
entirely different speaker. So far I have seen zero other reports
about this in all the DX sources I have; no one has noticed but me
starting two nights ago? Then, here`s another, June 21 at 0840 in
bdxc-news:

``WMLK (Assemblies of Yahweh) Bethel, Pennsylvania currently on 15150
khz with a good signal here at 0830 tune in, usual preaching from the
late Jacob O Meyer. SIO 344. First time I've heard WMLK on this
frequency or at this time although they have been registering the
frequency for many years in the HFCC. 15150 was first reported by
Glenn Hauser on 19 June. WMLK schedule is Sunday to Friday: 0400-0900
on 15150, 1700-2200 on 9275. 73s Dave Kenny, Caversham Berks, AOR
7030+ / 25m longwire``

9275, still no WMLK here at 2057 June 21 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5085 & 9475, still no activity from WTWW; however George
McClintock tells me June 21 there`s still a possibility of
reactivation if some airtime can be sold. Partially depleted tubes may
be sold on EBay. Vines are now overgrowing the two WTWW buildings. A
tree fell over on one of the feedlines. SFAW HQ in Colorado is still
paying electric bill at minimum rate of $ 2K per month, altho axual
consumption has been nothing but air-conditioning (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 88.3, a reply to my first unID of my June 14 FM DX report,
``88.3 at 1714, mentions Leesburg? which is in N VA, NW of WDC.
Nothing there; I now think it was probably Lynchburg as in later 88.3
log below.``

Tim McVey: ``You can't rule out 88.3 WQIQ in Spotsylvania. WQIQ is
part of Virginia Tech's excellent large-area network of stations (IQ
Radio), and a fulltime NPR affiliate. Daily they carry segments on
news from around Virginia. That seems like a reasonable option based
on PTA (other Leesburgs are in FL, GA, AL, OH). 88.3 in Lynchburg, VA
is local, religious programming and a long way from Leesburg. ~tim
mcvey``

Spotsylvania VA is near Frederixburg, between Alexandria and Richmond
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 12005, June 21 at 0632, open carrier, fair. Nothing in
Aoki or EiBi anywhen near this time. Would you believe HFCC still has
an A23 entry for Sfax, TUNISIA, 500 kW at 100 degrees on 12005 at
0400-0610? Gone from SW for many years. Maybe that qualify them to
host HFCC meetings, good for the economy. Hmmm, 12005 happens to be
one of the frequencies from Woofferton to Antarctica later this date
at 2130 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 2328 UT June 21
